SpeechLanguagePathologist Qualifications:
Licensure: Current SpeechLanguagePathologist license in the state where services are delivered or eligibility to obtain such licensure.

Experience: Preferably one year of experience in speech therapy

Collaborate with families, general and special education teachers, administrators, and other professionals to support students in the least restrictive environment, including classroom observation, curriculum analysis, instructional problem-solving, and intervention planning.
Participate in and facilitate IEP and MET meetings; support augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems; provide staff training and consultation; and contribute to building-level and district-wide initiatives, including MTSS when approved by administration.
Use data to guide prevention, intervention, evaluation, and program improvement; communicate student progress toward IEP goals regularly; and maintain appropriate professional credentials, including state licensure and ASHA certification (CCC-SLP), through ongoing professional learning.

A SpeechLanguagePathologist (SLP) administers speech therapy to patients on an intermittent basis in their place of residence. This is performed in accordance with physician orders and plan of care under the direction and supervision of the Administrator/Clinical Manager. Speech therapy services are furnished only by or under the supervision of a qualified speechpathologist or audiologist.
Provides a full range SpeechLanguage Pathology Services as ordered by physician.
Periodically participates with all other home care personnel in patient care planning
Takes initial history and makes initial evaluation, performs all skilled procedure
Consults with physicians regarding change of treatment, writes reports to physicians regarding patient's progress
An initial evaluation, including a plan of treatment and goals, must be completed and submitted to the physician for approval. A recertification by a physician every 60 days is necessary if further treatment is to be continued. A progress note is written each visit. A reevaluation is written when the expected duration of treatment is reached. A summary is written upon patient's discharge.
Required Qualifications
A Master's or Doctoral degree in SpeechLanguage Pathology and is licensed as a SpeechLanguagePathologist by the state where they furnish service
Knowledge of medical terminology required
Reliable transportation and valid automobile insurance coverage

. Maintain current knowledge regarding instructional and technological advances and other matters concerning speech-language therapy, by attending and participating in professional workshops and conferences or through other appropriate avenues.
. May provide in-service training to other professionals and paraprofessionals.

Requirements
. A teaching certificate with an endorsement in speech pathology OR a Certificate of Clinical Competency in speech pathology OR a master's degree and any combination equivalent to a master's degree in the area of speech-language pathology from an accredited program in speech-language therapy sufficient to enable the candidate to be deemed “highly qualified.”
. Knowledge of principles and techniques of speech-language therapy, training and supervising staff as acquired through professional preparation and experience.
. Knowledge of methods and procedures for assessment and treatment of communication disorders (speech sound production and use, receptive and expressive language, fluency, voice, oral motor, etc) as acquired in training and experience.
. Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations regarding special education records, due process, service provision and speechlanguage pathology; knowledge of state laws and regulations governing the practice of speech-language pathology and academy policies and procedures as acquired through education and experience.
.
