    The Procurement Specialist assists the Purchasing Team with the purchase of commodities, equipment, services, and contracts for assigned commodity groups. Responsibilities include process purchase requisitions, provide telephone assistance and information, follow-up with suppliers on prices and deliveries. Assist with the development and evaluation of new purchasing contracts and renewals. Works under the direction of the Contract Administrator / Purchasing Supervisor on a team basis to accomplish the prudent purchase of assigned commodities. • Reviews purchase requisitions for approval, completeness, clarity, detail, and correctness. Edit requisitions for the purchase of routine items including equipment and services, after review, approval, or advice from CA/PS. • Prepares purchase order indicating vendor, items purchased, quantities, pricing, and terms and conditions. • Places orders with vendors by phone, fax, EDI, or other means. Ensures vendors quote current accurate contract pricing. Negotiates with vendors for price and terms and conditions in conjunction with CA/PS. • Responsible for data entry of purchase orders, as assigned. • Contacts appropriate service personnel regarding repairs for equipment and processes necessary paperwork. • Develops a relationship with the customer/ department manager. Develops an understanding of the customer/ department served, including the customer's goals and services provided. • Develops product knowledge about the commodities purchased. Keeps abreast of advances in technology. Searches for and investigates alternative sources of supply. • Acts as a specialist for assigned commodities for client departments by supplying information and literature and performing other liaison duties. • Performs bidding, except for formal Request for Proposals, for goods, services, equipment per policy and procedure. Recommends cost-effective alternative products to the CA/PS for review. Refers opportunities to purchase more cost-effective goods and services to CA/PS. •Coordinates with departments, receiving personnel, vendors, and accounts payable to resolve problems encountered with invoices or order delivery. Minimum Requirements: HS Diploma/GED and two (2) years experience in a purchasing department or related area in healthcare. Key Responsibilities * E2E Strategy & Leadership: Develop, execute, and improve a global supply chain strategy aligned with corporate, financial and customer objectives for clinical and commercial supply. Serve as a key member and advisor to senior leadership advising on supply chain risks, opportunities, and investments. * Clinical and Commercial Planning & Governance: Establish and mature sales and operational planning to enable strategic decision making at ES&OP; partner closely with Commercial and Clinical Operations leaders globally to understand demand scenarios, clinical trial design and enrollment objectives, and risks/opportunities. Lead integrated planning across the value chain to drive global/regional/site supply plans across Kite's manufacturing network, inventory optimization, and performance management. * Global Logistics & Trade Compliance: Own global logistics network, trade compliance, and regional supply chain operations. About This Role As a General Matter Supply Chain Manager, you will own procurement and supply chain operations end-to-end. You'll build vendor relationships, source components, negotiate pricing and contracts, manage materials availability, and design lightweight but scalable processes. You'll work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and finance to keep development and production on track. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role ideal for someone who is both strategic and hands-on-comfortable optimizing cost structures one hour and chasing down a late component the next. Responsibilities Procurement & Sourcing (Primary Focus) Source and qualify suppliers for mechanical, electrical, and specialty hardware components. Lead RFQs, negotiate pricing/terms, and drive cost-down initiatives. Build and maintain a preferred vendor list and category strategies. Manage supplier performance metrics: on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness, and risk. Supply Chain Operations Oversee purchasing, inventory levels, lead times, and inbound logistics. Maintain accurate demand forecasts and procurement plans for hardware builds. Implement lightweight processes for material planning, tracking, and reporting that can scale over time. Proactively identify and mitigate supply risks or single-source vulnerabilities.
