BDS Sapphire is the common core system for engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and finance subsystems that supports the BDS mission delivering a highly capable solution comprised of three core bedrocks to include Production Data Management (PDM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
This role will report to the Sapphire Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) leader and will lead the architecture effort for Sapphire with the IDT&S Chief Architect. Position Responsibilities:
Works collaboratively across subsystems within the Sapphire program and with IPTs for development and delivery to apply common products, processes, and tools to plan, design, develop, and verify complex software applications systems
Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces
Performs various analyses to optimize the total system of systems and/or system architecture
Responsible for identifying unassigned scope and ensuring it gets properly distributed
Participates in the identification and resolution of cross-functional and cross-IPT technical issues
Participate or lead system and subsystem level trades, including technical, cost, schedule aspects
May lead SEIT level duties such as Risk, Issue and Opportunity (RIO) Board or Technical Review Board (TRB)
Ensures compliance by integrating the SEIT statement of work (SOW) and technical specification into the IPT workflow
Participates in the creation of the requirements and model-based system engineering infrastructures and leads efforts to allocate and derive performance and functional requirements trace their flow down to lower levels
Forecasts and tracks requirements compliance activities to verify compliance and satisfy architecture development and delivery
Participate in the planning and execution of Sapphire system engineering events (e.g., System Requirement Reviews, Preliminary Design Reviews and Critical Design Reviews, development and production cycle developmental gates) and applies Boeing command media to ensure they satisfy all entrance/exit criteria.
Represents Sapphire program's system engineering in events led by other IPTs (e.g., Test and Production Readiness Reviews)
Supports the program in additional roles that evolve with the program life cycle.
This position may require up to 20% travel.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A Final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
Experience leading engineering teams.
Advanced knowledge of Architecture definition and design concepts and techniques (e.g., concurrent engineering, Design for Manufacture/Assembly).
Experience with PLM/MES/ERP integrations, middleware, ICDs, and digital thread concepts strongly preferred.
Familiarity with SEIT and Application Lifecycle Management toolchains (requirements management, architecture development, interface definition, automated testing, traceability tools).
Strong analytical, risk management, and process measurement skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; proven ability to present technical results and readiness recommendations to senior leadership.
Experience coordinating with IT security (IDT&S) and applying security/compliance constraints into architecture definition.

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Intramotev is seeking a Systems Engineer, Regulation & Certification to lead our efforts in securing federal approval for our groundbreaking autonomous rail vehicles. You will be the crucial bridge between our cutting-edge engineering team and regulatory bodies like the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA).
This is not a typical systems engineering role. Your primary objective is to navigate the complex regulatory landscape, shaping our design, development, and testing processes to meet and exceed the stringent safety and certification requirements for operation on the national rail network. You will own the certification strategy, translate regulations into engineering requirements, and build the safety case that allows our technology to be deployed commercially.

Key Responsibilities:

About You:
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline or a related technical field.
5+ years of systems engineering experience in a safety-critical or highly-regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, defense, medical devices, automotive, rail).
Direct experience interacting with a federal regulatory agency (e.g., FRA, FAA, FDA, NHTSA) to achieve product certification, waivers, or approvals.
Proven experience developing and validating safety-critical systems (hardware and software) in accordance with industry standards (e.g., DO-178C, ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or similar).
Deep understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements management, system architecture, and verification/validation.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Direct experience working with the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and knowledge of US railway systems or regulations (e.g., 49 CFR Parts 200-299).
Experience in the development and verification of autonomous systems, robotics, or complex control systems.
Experience authoring a complete safety case for a novel technology.
Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies.
Experience working in a fast-paced startup or Agile development environment.
Experience working in Agile environments for hardware and software development.
Experience with cyber-security assessments and certifications, particulary for performing work on government projects.
Typical Education and Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor and/or Master) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience.
