    GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Classroom Assistants work directly under the supervision of Classroom Instructors and the Project Forward Learning Disability Specialist. The most essential function of this position is to support the design, implementation, and evaluation process of the course material, as directed by staff. Classroom Assistants will help to protect the health and safety of students, while adhering to confidentiality requirements and protocols of the program. They will demonstrate integrity, respect for diversity and all standards of ethical conduct expected of a professional at Project Forward. Classroom Assistants are needed for the following subjects: Agriculture and Facilities, Elder Health and Wellness, Mass Communications and Broadcasting, Workforce Seminar and First-year Seminar courses; one Classroom Assistant role will include some hours working in our Seashore Café. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: * Provide direct instructional support to students and staff in both classroom and field experience settings, as directed by the classroom teacher in the vocation they are working in. * Implement modifications and adaptations to the environment or with materials as directed by the classroom teacher they are working with. * Assist staff, as directed, in maintaining charts, data, and/or any other records related to student progress and record keeping, including student attendance data entry. * Reinforce all academic/social behaviors as taught and expected by teacher, and consistent with program expectations. * Model appropriate social and professional skills, participation, adult behaviors and problem-solving skills. * Assist classroom teacher in the management of student behavior by applying pro-active strategies when presented with adverse student behavior. * Act as a cooperative team member in all course and program related experiences. * Maintain professional Classroom Assistant skills by attending Project Forward's in-service meetings and workshops for assistants. * Provide verbal/written feedback of all requested observations for the purpose of assisting classroom teachers in evaluating students. * Participate, only as directed by teacher, in lesson and classroom activity planning. * Perform any other related duties as assigned and/or requested from time to time by Project Forward administration or classroom teachers.
