This is an in-person, full time, 9-month, non-tenure track position at the rank of Teaching Assistant Professor or Teaching Associate Professor (commensurate with experience). Appointment at the rank of Teaching Associate Professor requires candidates to meet the University's expectations for promotion to this rank. The candidate will teach a wide variety of in-person and online courses for both undergraduate and graduate students. Primary areas of teaching interest include Physical Activity, Nutrition, and Health; Foundations and Careers in Kinesiology; Musculoskeletal Anatomy; Motor Development and Control; Contemporary Issues in Sport; Research Methods in Health and Kinesiology; and other courses based on department needs. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will also have a small amount of time allocated to research and service responsibilities. Qualifications Required: Successful candidates must have a PhD or equivalent degree in Kinesiology or a related field. Assist in supporting ESL classrooms and/or general education classrooms as determined by the supervisor(s). Assist the translation/interpretation in appropriate native languages of students and families. Perform all other duties and tasks assigned from time to time by the supervisor as it relates to individual students or the classroom. QUALIFICATIONS: Must meet all requirements for the position as designated by the ISBE, Paraprofessional Certificate or 60 hours of college credit are required. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Highly organized Excellent communication and collaboration skills Excellent problem-solver Pashto bilingual required TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Student Contact Days and other days stipulated on the work calendar in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. EVALUATION: To be completed by director/principal with input from the classroom teacher.
