Performs a variety of duties with a primary focus on splicing fiber optic cable. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Splices and tests copper and fiber optic cable. Assists where necessary with contractors working near buried facilities. Proficient in using fusion splicers and test equipment for troubleshooting purposes. Ability to read and interpret documents such as maps, staking sheets, and operating and maintenance instruction manuals. Job DescriptionDescription: PCT Ebeam and Integration in Davenport, IA is seeking 2 Field Service Technicians to provide support for testing, troubleshooting, repair and rebuild of electron beams. This position applies knowledge of mechanical and electrical processes such as high voltage, high vacuum, PLC controls, printed circuit board operation, hydraulic and pneumatic assembly. Travels on short notice for repair, calibration and installation of customer equipment in both domestic and international locations. Some of the duties are: Troubleshoots ebeam electron beam processors by identifying the malfunction's root cause and determining the feasibility and scope of repair based on time and budget constraints. Troubleshoots both electrical and mechanical systems and components. Repairs or replaces defective parts, reassemble, calibrate, adjust and certify serviceability of overhauled or modified equipment. Tests and calibrates ebeam printed circuit boards using test equipment and written procedures and guidelines. Reads and understands both electrical and mechanical drawings. Responsible for familiarity and expertise on the design, assembly and operation of all ebeam product lines. When necessary assists in assembling, testing and installing ebeam components such as feed thru, cathode, copper window and high vacuum system and control system components. Assists in performing point-to-point wiring checks, and power up of new or rebuilt ebeam processor using test equipment and written procedures. Collaboration with Medical Team: Work closely with interventional radiologists, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the success of each procedure and high-quality patient care. Provide feedback and support to the medical team during procedures, particularly in regard to imaging quality and patient positioning. Participate in discussions before and after procedures to review patient conditions, procedural outcomes, and follow-up care. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Accurately document all patient information, procedures performed, imaging parameters, and medications administered in the electronic health record (EHR). Ensure that all records are completed in compliance with hospital or clinic policies and regulatory standards. Maintain detailed logs of imaging procedures, contrast agents used, and patient conditions during and after the procedure. Radiation Safety and Compliance: Follow strict radiation safety protocols to ensure that radiation exposure is minimized for both the patient and the medical staff, including wearing protective equipment such as lead aprons. Adhere to healthcare regulations and standards, including HIPAA, infection control measures, and hospital accreditation guidelines. Stay updated on the latest radiation safety practices, imaging techniques, and procedural advancements. Professional Development and Training: Participate in continuing education and training to remain current with the latest technologies, techniques, and best practices in interventional radiology. Obtain and maintain certifications in radiologic technology and interventional radiology, and attend relevant workshops, conferences, and seminars. Mentor and assist in training new IR technologists or students in proper procedures, equipment handling, and safety protocols.

Overview: The Fiber Splicer will add, place, remove, reroute, set up, rack, splice, transfer, repair, rearrange, bond, pressurize, and test aerial, underground, and buried cable. Mount, cut-in, and repair cable terminal and load cases. Rearrange service drops, aerial and buried jumper wire and step poles. Read and interpret engineering prints. Testing, locating and repairing defects in fibers for fiber optic cables, using electrical and mechanical testing apparatus. Reports to: Field Splicing Manager Job Status: Non-Exempt Responsibilities: * Receiving work assignments from supervisor, other designated employees, or a laptop computer. * Reading and interpreting engineering plans, vendor specifications for the installation and repair of optic and electronic equipment, and interacting with the Engineering Group. * Making necessary preparations required for splicing, rearranging and terminate cable connectors. Performing splicing operations in connection with the installation, rearrangement, and repair of facilities. This includes fiber, wire, terminals, loop carrier electronics and light guide facilities and various fiber optic applications which may be aloft, underground, or buried. * Locating and clearing troubles in outside plant fiber facilities. * Determine air flow and pressure in cables - aerial and underground. Preparing cables for pressurization and maintaining cable pressure. * Using test equipment to check for gas in manholes and may have to empty water from manholes. * Occasionally work with torches and lead sleeves and iron cases. Placing and removing protective covering over sheath openings. * Works aloft; climbs ladders and poles; enters tunnels, buildings, trenches, crawl spaces, manholes, and other confined spaces to accomplish job tasks. * May work outdoors in all weather conditions. * Performing light digging operations as required. * Operating and maintaining necessary trucks and equipment needed to perform work operations in a safe manner. Includes operating aerial lifts (buckets) and hydraulic lift ladders mounted on trucks. * Testing, locating and repairing defects in fibers for fiber optic cables and digital carrier systems, using electrical and mechanical testing apparatus. * Installing, repairing, inspecting and maintaining inside cables, wires and plug-in equipment to connect telecommunication systems and equipment, including dark fiber and fiber and/or equipment including but not limited to routers, video set-top boxes and PC related hardware. * Promoting the sale of services and products which the company is permitted to provide. * Contacting customers face-to-face to notify them of work being performed on their lines, and when service is restored. Also communicates Company policy and bills customers when appropriate. * Reading and interpreting vendor specifications for optic and electronic equipment. Identifying and meeting individual customer requirements on provisioning and/or repair contacts. * Identifying database discrepancies by performing proactive preventive maintenance and providing corrected information to appropriate individuals. * Daily completion of all related administrative paperwork, time sheets, DOT log, etc. * Basic computer skills, working with customers' computer and equipment. * Performing additional duties and tasks as required by the Company.
