The Field Network Technician is responsible for testing, validating, and maintaining the physical network infrastructure; including construction testing and activation, repairing OSP systems deployed throughout the network, and replacement of assets as required. This role covers construction activation oversight, demand maintenance (outage response) and preventative maintenance (routine upkeep). To maintain the facilities, grounds, and to perform any necessary tasks to support the daily functions of our schools and the day-to-day functions of the Operations Department. Other transferable experience might include small engine repair, cell phone and electronics repair/ testing/ re-builds, carpentry, circuit board assembly/repair, industrial sewing, jewelry repair, maintenance, construction, and automotive repair. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times and push instrument carts ranging from 10-150 pounds at times. Must be able to meet flexible schedules with early/late hours and sometimes outside normal business hours including evenings and weekends, based on Customer and business needs. Related certifications in technical or mechanical area, competitive equipment training or related military experience may be considered towards experience requirement. Preferred: Experience with solder, brazing or other fine mechanical applications. Vocational / Technical Degree. Certifications in technical training.
