Job purpose
We are looking for a Field Heavy Equipment Mechanic to Join our growing team and help drive our customer service goals and objectives in the Field. Duties and responsibilities
* Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures. Maintains a clean, organized work are free from Safety issues and concerns.
* Utilizes a variety of techniques and tools to inspect, assess, diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic malfunctions on a variety of heavy equipment applications
* Maintains accurate reports and information on equipment and repairs to ensure accurate billing and service logs.
* Overhauls and tests machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency
* Tests mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer's specifications
* Brings to the attention of the shop manager any additional work required on unit or visible signs of damage including out of service conditions and safety hazards.
* Cleans, lubricates, and performs preventative maintenance work on equipment and vehicles as required
* Keeps abreast of all changes in various models of equipment sold and serviced by the distributors to maintain and upgrade technical competencies and knowledge through in-house and external training sources.
* Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
* Must have a CDL B License
* High School diploma and graduation from an accredited technical school in diesel engine/hydraulics/heavy equipment repair preferred but not required.
* Experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician/Mechanic required.
* Must have own tools.
* Volvo and/or other dealership or industry experience preferred.
* Skill in the use of a variety of diagnostic testing and tuning equipment.
* Working experience with computer systems and maintenance software preferred
* Advanced technical software application understanding with relevant industry experience highly desired.
* Strong organizational and customer service skills to ensure high level customer service
* Ability to work overtime when required
* Have excellent communication skills, verbal and written

What Your Job Will Be Like
We are seeking a highly motivated Electromechanical Technologist to join our team. Our department focuses on embedded electronics, electrical and RF technologies for a wide variety of national security missions in the Transportation Safety and Security Programs (TSSP). About Our Team
The Communications and Electrical Systems Technology Department is responsible for the development and integration of command, control, and communication technologies used in specialized transportation security systems. The department conducts research and development activities in the areas of high consequence software systems, custom embedded circuit design, wireless network communications, intelligent power conditioning and distribution, navigation systems, and sensors. Major programs supported by the department include the Safeguards Transporter (SGT), development of a new high security system called the Mobile Guardian Transporter (MGT) and an advanced concept surety programs called Integrated Surety Architectures (ISA). Robust security protection for transportation systems face many unique challenges, and requires exhaustive investigation and analysis of sophisticated system attacks and the associated development of countermeasures to defend and protect against such attacks. The use of modeling and simulation tools assists in the investigation, exploration, and development of new design approaches, algorithms, and design of experiments to validate system capabilities.

Survey manholes and duct systems for government run projects
Occasional quality assurance inspections
Occasional OSP copper and fiber cable splicing for repair
Maintaining and repairing existing manholes and in-frequent installation or repair of inside telephone and network wiring.
Prospective candidate will be familiar with current copper and fiber installation and testing standards and perform installations according to current base, industry, and safety standards, and legal requirements.
Work will be performed based on customer submitted work orders, dig permit requests, or emergency outage reports.

All work is to be properly documented, labeled, and recorded to include entry into electronic records systems as required.
Qualifications

Knowledge in telecommunications systems and practices.
Familiarity with copper and fiber cable installation, repair, and cable locating.
Knowledge of exterior communications infrastructure to include manholes, ducts, inner-ducts, and aerial lines.
Responsible for maintaining and repairing existing manholes, which includes patching leaks, replacing damaged parts, and ensuring accessibility for maintenance and repairs.
Customer service experience.
Ability to meet physical requirements of the positions such as climbing ladders, standing, bending, and lifting for duration of the duty day. Must be capable of working in confined spaces.
Coordinates with the customer on specific requirements, and where necessary and appropriate coordinates with other contractors.
