What You'll Do
Summary/Objective:
Contribute to DCU's Success Sharing and business goals by identifying members' needs, providing service excellence and helping members achieve their financial goals.
Essential Functions:

Understand and explain all DCU products and services and complete member requests.

Adhere to all DCU policies and procedures, which include security compliance and following guidelines intended to limit risk exposure to fraud and losses.
May be asked to provide coverage in other DCU areas such as other branches, Information Center, or support departments.
Continuously identify and submit efficiency and process improvement ideas

What You'll Be Doing (Your Responsibilities)
Processes a wide variety of transactions for members including, but not limited to: deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, payroll adjustments, bank checks, gift cards, VISA cash advances, IRA deposits/withdrawals in accordance with established Credit Union policies and procedures.
Consistently develops potential new business by uncovering clues and needs during interactions with members, presenting the benefits of those products/services and referring the member to the appropriate CU partner for fulfillment. Provides the highest quality member service by listening, communication, and referring members to appropriate personnel as necessary to meet quarterly goals.
Uses sound judgement and interpersonal skills to effectively assist members.
Maintains and balances a backup cash vault, if assigned by Branch Manager.
Assists in training new Tellers.
Participates in opening and closing the branch.
Interacts with members and staff on a daily basis in prompt, effective and professional manner.
Balances cash drawer and makes settlement of the day's activities in accordance with Credit Union policies and procedures.
Ensures that cash limits are consistently followed as per established Credit Union procedures, cash is kept secure at all times and locked in the vault each night.
Assists members with accessing their safe deposit boxes.
Answers telephones, provides information and/or directs caller to appropriate department/employee.
Assists in opening the night depository and logs deposits as needed.
Participates in balancing ATM, under dual control, as necessary.
Adheres to all aspects of the Credit Union Bank Secrecy Act policy and procedures.
Ability to work some Saturdays during the month and occasionally provides temporary coverage in alternate locations for an unplanned absence situation.
Works towards achieving sale/service goals by attending department meetings, on-on-one meetings, and product knowledge and selling skills training on an ongoing basis.
Performs additional duties as requested.
What We're Looking For (Your Qualifications)
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent is required.
One year of previous teller experience preferred with a satisfactory balancing record.
Basic math skills; familiarity with keyboard/personal computer; customer/member service skills; effective written and verbal communication/interpersonal skills and data entry skills required.
Strong desire to work with the general public.
Flexibility of work hours and proven reliability/dependability required.
Must have a valid drivers license for coverage of retail branches.
Bilingual preferred.

Our Tellers process cash deposits and provide change fulfillment services while ensuring accuracy and excellent customer service for all our customers. The Teller places value not only on what work gets done, but also how it gets done. This position is not located at a branch office; rather, the Teller works at a cash processing center in the Shrewsbury area where you can focus on getting the job done.
Major responsibilities are as follows:
Maintains positive, friendly, and professional communications with co-workers, and management whether in person, by phone, in writing, and/or through computerized and other electronic means.
Safely operates cash processing equipment and keeps equipment in good working order.
Accurately and efficiently counts and logs clients' deposits into our teller software system.
Uses handheld electronic devices to scan and track deposits.
Prepares currency/coin orders.
Ensures accurate counting and tracking of all vault assets.
Ensures the safety of all negotiables and confidential records.
