CMM SOURCE INSPECTOR (REMOTE) - CHICAGO
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Travel up to 75% of the time to perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and/or sub-assemblies at supplier sites
Select and utilize standard gauges to ensure quality
Inspect feature tolerances by selecting the tool with the required accuracy
Perform complex inspections on purchased mechanical parts, components, assemblies and materials
Perform documentation review and verification of certifications, specifications, and conformance to design and specification requirements
Inspect flight hardware at the supplier according to engineering drawings, purchase order(s), industry standards, and SpaceX specifications
Ensure that all parts meet SpaceX specifications and standards or that any non-conformance is documented at the supplier
Support the development of inspection plans at suppliers
Support supplier corrective action process, including verifying corrective action implementation
Provide support to both internal and external stakeholders on SpaceX requirements and inspection processes
Collaborate with teams, lead projects, and drive continuous improvement of processes both internally and at our suppliers
Program and set up Articulating Arm (ex. Romer), CMMs to achieve the desired inspections
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
3+ years of precision mechanical inspection experience
3+ years of CMM programming, CMM operations, or Faro Arm experience
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Aerospace precision inspection experience
Practical experience working within quality management systems (AS9100 and ISO 9001)
CMM Programming with PC-DMIS software
Romer Arm experience with Verisurf software
Basic understanding of electronics inspection and propulsion valve operation
Solid computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
Statistical process control experience
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specification using ASME Y14.5. GD&T and skillful use of metrology tools and gauge
Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing priorities and tasks as delegated
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted
Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
Must be able to travel - up to 75% work week travel may be required
Position may involve overtime, long hours and weekend work as needed with occasional overnight work may be required when traveling to suppliers
Frequent travel to suppliers around Chicago area required; valid driver's license mandatory
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Source Inspector/Level 1: $30.00 - $38.00/hour
Source Inspector/Level 2: $34.00 - $43.00/hour
Source Inspector/Level 3: $38.00 - $48.00/hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

General
This is a full-time position that will report to the Director of Quality, and interacts with the company's Flight Mechanics, other Quality auditors, Director of Maintenance, and Vice President Maintenance and Engineering. The responsibilities include the day-to-day oversight and review of the Company's various maintenance tasks and inspections to assure compliance with all FAR requirements and Company GMM requirements. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of all FAR aircraft maintenance requirements and have an attention to detail. Duties and Responsibilities
Participates in the Company's Safety Management System (SMS)in accordance with the responsibilities detailed in the Safety Manual;
The performance of inspection functions in accordance with the Maintenance Program, FAA AD,SB or other requirement to ensure aircraft, engines, appliances and components are maintained to a prescribed standard in order to continue the airworthiness;
Provides quality control oversight for all maintenance activities;
Performs preliminary, in progress, hidden damage and final inspections;
Performs special inspections as detailed by the requesting or requiring document;
Performs Required Inspection Item (RII) and Buy Back inspections;
Performs receiving inspections to ensure the use of legal, conforming and applicable parts and materials;
Ensures that inspections and surveillance are performed as required on necessary maintenance actions in order to assure the use of approved data, material, tools, test equipment and that high standards of workmanship are present;
Provide guidance and assistance to maintenance personnel in order to train, maintain and enhance compliance to programs, policies and procedures.
Conducts daily audits of aircraft work packages including checks/inspections forms, log pages, routines and non-routines, modification orders, etc. to ensure completion, correctness, use of appropriate references to approved data in all entries and forms;
Reviews the aircraft and engine logbooks at checks and during accomplishment of any maintenance. At the appropriate checks, transcribes all pilot reports and deferred maintenance items to the appropriate work forms;
Accomplishes and records analysis of audits and reviews of data/information for continuing analysis and surveillance reports as identified by the Director QC/QA;
Performs as a “Designated Instructor” in areas and/or on subjects as qualified and approved by the Director QC/QA;
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director QC/QA, Chief Inspector, or Director of Maintenance
Qualifications
Must possess a working knowledge or understanding of the duties, responsibilities and authorities defined within this position description.
Must Hold a current FAA (Part 65) Mechanic Certificate with an Airframe and Power Plant rating and have held these ratings for at least three (3)years;
Have two (2) or more years of maintenance experience ondifferent typesof large airplanes(having 10 or more passenger seats, B767/B777 preferred) with aPart 121aircarrier;
Have maintenance experienceonthe category and class ofaircraftas that of the Company, preferably, a background including ETOPS;
Knowledge of the 14 CFR Parts 21, 43, 91, 121, GMM, Maintenance Programs and the Eastern Airlinesmanualsystem;

Duties and Responsibilities of Electrical Quality ControlInspectors (included but not limited to):
Administration of the Quality Management System (QMS) outlined in the MMR PQP

We are seeking OBA (Out-of-Box Audit) inspectors to join our new factory in Columbus, Ohio. This role is responsible for performing end-of-line outbox inspections to ensure photovoltaic (PV) modules comply with product specifications, customer requirements and applicable industry standards prior to shipment. The position Focuses on defect detection, accurate documentation, traceability verification, and shipment readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
OBA Sample Preparation
Select OBA samples according to approved OBA sampling plans, including AQL, customer-specific, or risk-based sampling.
Coordinate with warehouse teams to retrieve packed modules from pallets or containers safely.
Verify correct pallet identification, and module serial numbers prior to opening samples.
Properly open, reseal, and re-pack cartons after inspection to avoid secondary damage.
Clearly identify and mark OBA samples to maintain traceability throughout the OBA process.
Ensure all sample handling activities comply with safety, packaging, and ESD requirements.
Perform daily OBA inspections in accordance with the approved control plan, including ISO 2859-1 / AQL sampling and customer-specific sampling requirements.
Conduct comprehensive cosmetic, functional, and safety inspections, including but not limited to:
Visual Inspection: cells, busbars & ribbons, glass, frame, junction box, label, packaging, connectors & cables, sealant/encapsulation, safety distance, and overall workmanship.
Electrical Performance: flash test, power output, bypass diode functionality, Electroluminescence (EL) test.
Safety Tests: Insulation resistance, grounding continuity, Hi-Pot test, thermal imaging.
Dimensional and Label Checks: dimensions, weight, packaging integrity and handling, and label accuracy (UL/IEC marks, serials, QR).
Verify full traceability between PV module serial numbers, pallets, and lot numbers.
Review and confirm availability, accuracy, and linkage of quality records, including EL images, IV test results, and safety tests documentation.
Identify, contain, tag and segregate nonconforming products, initiate Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) as required and support disposition activities in accordance with MRB guidance.
Accurately record OBA inspection results in inspection checklists and/or digital tools, ensuring proper retention of objective evidence.
Immediately escalate critical or systemic quality issues and support containment and feedback actions with production and quality teams.
Verify that required corrective actions and containment measures are implemented prior to shipment release.
Support customer-specific quality criteria and special inspection requirements.
Participate in continuous improvement activities, including updates to inspection standards, defect libraries, and inspection effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree or equivalent required, quality, engineering, or technical background preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in PV module manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, or quality inspection in a production environment.

What is an Occupancy Verification?
Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and to do this they send out independent contractors. The purpose of the property inspection is:
To verify property occupancy.
To report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.
Most inspections are exterior only. About 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
We contract with inspectors at a county level. This means that you would be responsible to complete all inspections in your county. In some cases, you will split the county with another inspector if there is enough volume for two inspectors.
Responsibilities
Most common type of inspection should only take 5-6 minutes.
Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
Report general property conditions and make a determination of occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in an app.
Requires being able to spend extended periods of time driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.

Primary Activities/Duties
Visually inspect parts for compliance with quality requirements.
Verify documentation and paperwork for accuracy.
Read blueprints to determine specifications and tolerances for machined components and assemblies.
Use inspection tools to complete dimensional reports.
Initiate containment activities when discrepancies are identified.
Review and refine data collection requirements based on customer drawings, models, work orders, purchase orders, sketches, and PPAP standards.
Participate in Gage R&R studies.
Act as an impartial third party between production and customer to ensure product quality.
Perform a variety of inspection tasks with minimal supervision.
Communicate inspection findings and non-conformances to relevant stakeholders.
Read and follow work instructions and general processes.
Use measuring and testing equipment as needed.
Ensure products meet quality standards and comply with health and safety policies.
Collect and record inspection data.
Utilize company portal for time tracking and policy acknowledgements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Safety Requirements
Wear safety-toed footwear.
Safety glasses with side shields.
Hearing protection.
Additional personal protective equipment as required.
Follow all safety procedures including Lock Out Tag Out when applicable.
Physical Requirements
Stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach frequently throughout the shift.
Lift 25-50 pounds to waist level and up to 25 pounds above shoulder level.
Stand for extended periods and occasionally work at a computer.
Work Environment
Manufacturing and warehouse areas with exposure to moving mechanical parts, dust, and high noise levels.
May be required to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Regular use of cleaning solvents, oils, lubricants, and other substances.
Knowledge & Experience
High school diploma or GED required.
One year of related experience or training preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience considered.
Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints.
Knowledge of GD&T and experience with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and SAP is a plus.
Basic understanding of ISO 9001:2015 standards.

SUMMARY
The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting parts of Pressure Vessels and process piping for stress and failure using multiple methods per regulatory, customer, and internal requirements. Candidates for this role should have a working knowledge of all inspection roles/ processes such as visual inspection, hydrostatic and various NDE methods. The Quality Inspector will be responsible for helping to detect the root cause of Quality issues as well as keeping track of Quality documentation through Westerman's document control software.
The Quality Inspector must have applicable knowledge of all ASME codes that pertain to pressure vessels. The Quality Inspector will be required to have the ability to train, coordinate, and communicate effectively and professionally with all departments and personnel.

ASME Section VIII and B31.3 code knowledge required
Candidate should have at least LVL 1 training in VT/PT/UT/MT and RT Film Interpretation
Must be meticulous about capturing and retaining information
Must have basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Record-keeping software, etc.)
Must be able to work in a team environment and be able to explain issues in a professional manner
Must be analytical and detail oriented
Must have working knowledge of mathematical and measurement principles
Must have a positive attitude and a desire to continually improve
OSHA safety training and HazMat training preferred
