Work Shift Day (United States of America) Overview The speech language pathologist evaluates patients and develops the speech/language plan of care in the areas of speech, language, voice, cognition and swallowing in collaboration with the physician. Services are provided across the full continuum and rendered in a cost conscious, quality focused and customer oriented manner. Compliance with all applicable regulatory standards is also required in this role. Responsibilities Core Responsibilites and Essential Functions Patient Assessment * In collaboration with the physician, responsible for the establishment and ongoing evaluation of treatment programs, plan of care, goals and discharge plans for the patients as related to speech, language, cognition, voice and swallowing. * Establishes a plan of care in conjunction with the patient and/or family members. * Establishes realistic discharge plan incorporating patient and/or family member goals. Treatment Planning and Provision of Care * Implements the speech language therapy treatment plan * Selects appropriate treatment activities to progress patient towards goals. * Revises goals/plan of care with patient/family input * Provides ongoing patient/family education and training * Provides discharge instructions, follow-up and referral to community resources as appropriate * Acts as a referral source for staff, families, physicians on services and equipment related to rehabilitation services. Documentation * Documents the evaluation and plan of care according to departmental guidelines * Documents each treatment session according to departmental protocols * Completes and submits family education, discharge and other required documentation within facility and program guidelines General requirements * Adheres to ethical business practices by striving to perform in a manner that conforms to the highest standards of ethical behavior, integrity and honesty. * Embraces diversity and demonstrates the ability to work together. * Maintains confidentiality of all patient information. * Maintains attendance/punctuality in accordance with system policy and procedure. * Adheres to departmental dress code policy, including wearing and displaying ID badge appropriately. * Communicates information effectively both verbally and in writing with all team members.     Job Title: Biomedical Engineering Support Specialist - Service Maintenance Job Type: Full-time Reports To: COO Widescope Consulting & Contracting Provide cradle-to-grave biomedical engineering and administrative support to the Defense Health Agency (DHA) for centrally managed service maintenance contracts supporting diagnostic imaging equipment and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) across all DHA sites. Duties and Responsibilities: Provide cradle-to-grave support to DHA for service maintenance contracts for centrally managed diagnostic imaging equipment and PACS. Provide administrative support to DHA sites to determine appropriate maintenance coverage and recommend service maintenance contracts. Track and survey DHA sites to perform needs assessments for service maintenance contract requirements. Perform continuous monitoring of quality, quantity, and timeliness of service maintenance contracts. Prepare business cost analyses for requests to add equipment maintenance to centrally managed contracts. Interface with and prepare required documentation for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and DHA finance offices. Represent DHA in development, amendment, and rewrite of consolidated service maintenance agreements used by all DHA Medical Treatment Facilities (MTFs). Ensure maintenance agreements are right-sized, cost-effective, and protect MTF operational requirements and DHA interests. Ensure and assist base-level Biomedical Equipment Technicians (BMETs) with accurate accounting of service contract costs in DMLSS. Maintain continuous accounting of current fiscal year expenditures for service maintenance contracts. Prepare budget estimates and projections for future-year service maintenance contract requirements. Supported Systems: Centrally managed diagnostic imaging equipment and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) supporting DHA Medical Treatment Facilities worldwide. Preferred Qualifications: Biomedical, clinical, or systems engineering background with experience in medical device life-cycle management, requirements development, or acquisition support. Familiarity with DHA, DoD PPBE, and facility hospital operations preferred. Bachelor's Degree in related field is highly recommended. U.S. Citizen
