ESCALON UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT PARA EDUCATOR - RTI JOB SUMMARY Under the supervision of the site Principal and/or designee, perform necessary duties of a responsible nature to assist in meeting goals of the comprehensive program for students, assist in the planning and implementation of a program for students, and to assist in the monitoring of student progress and assessment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION May include, but not limited to:
* Perform a wide variety of specialized and responsible work, work independently; interpret and apply rules and regulations as appropriate
* Review, check, correct and compile a variety of information; verify data for accuracy, completeness and compliance with established procedures relating to student development and progress
* Assist in planning and implementing suitable learning experiences for students
* Supervise students
* Assist in setting up, monitoring and cleaning up classroom equipment and facilities
* Complete position-related clerical tasks
* Assist certificated staff directly or indirectly in the educational functions of the classroom, lab, and/or school
* Assist and instruct students in various areas of instruction
* Attend appropriate staff meetings and in-service trainings
* Assist in the monitoring of individual student files
* Prepare and maintain a variety of logs, records and files, including information of a confidential nature; maintain confidentiality of information and records
* Work with individual students and/or groups of students for purposes of instruction, observation, testing, assessment, collection of data, etc
* Perform related duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge and Application of: Correct oral and written English usage, spelling, grammar, punctuation, vocabulary and arithmetic processes; operation of modern office machines, including, but not limited to computers; methods and procedures including software applications used in a modern environment; formats and procedures for entering and retrieving various types of data and reports; recordkeeping techniques; effective and efficient communication techniques; interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy; child growth and development principles; behavioral management strategies; understanding and knowledge of development of school age children; oral communication skills in Spanish desirable. Ability to:

* Attend meetings and learning workshops as requested
* Meet schedules and deadlines
* Plan and organize; utilize time management and organizational skills
* Perform simple mathematical calculations

Education / Experience: High school diploma or GED required. Advanced education/coursework and/or training in the implementation of instructional methodologies desirable. Experience or formal training equal to one (1) year working within child centered environment preferred. State Requirements Include: AA Degree or Verifiable Two (2) years post-secondary education, or 48 semester units, or Proficiency Certificate (NCLB) Condition of employment: Successful completion of District-Sponsored Certification training as Direct Instruction Instructor within 4 months of date of hire. Salary Level: 30 - Classified Salary Schedule
