+ Shares in the Behavioral Health On-Call for after-hours coverage and daily clinic call.

+ Ph.D. /Psy.D, LCSW, LPC or LMFT degree
+ Licensed in the State of Connecticut.

Responsibilities of a Mentor
To provide the intern with support related to subject and course curricula, instructional strategies, classroom management, building and district policies and procedures, parental contacts and any and all other topics that may be of importance in the performance of the intern's duties as a teacher
Maintain confidentiality of all discussions, observations, and other contacts between the mentor and intern that pertain to professional issues
Must be willing to mentor up to three interns per school year, if necessary. Teaching Assistant mentors will be assigned one intern per year
Attend one (1) day of training during new teacher orientation in August
Meet with the intern on a regular basis at least one (1) hour per week. (Teaching Assistant interns at least 30 minutes per week)
Observe the intern on a schedule to be determined by the mentor-intern team and coordinated with the administrator
Provide opportunities, as determined by the mentor-intern team and building principal, for the intern to observe the mentor or other qualified teacher a minimum of four times per year
Maintain a log of all contact between the mentor-intern team. Said log will identify the date, time, location and topic(s) of the discussion(s), as well as any recommendations made
Participate in an evaluation of the mentor-intern program
Participate in two (2) meetings (one at the end of the first quarter and one at the end of the third quarter) coordinated by the mentor program advisory council. Meetings will be scheduled at the end of the elementary day
Must be available to meet with intern during the week of new staff orientation in late August (Dates to be announced)
