Job Responsibilities: Performs transthoracic echocardiograms, stress echo (both exercise and pharmacological) per department and management guidelines. Captures digital cardiac images and performs measurements correctly, recognizing pathology andor customizes exam requiring contrast agent accordingly due to lack of image quality. Performs intra-procedural transthoracic echocardiograms as ordered. Performs transthoracic echocardiograms as ordered for patients enrolled in Institutional Review Board (IRB) approved clinical trials research protocols. Transthoracic echocardiograms may be performed in the Echo Lab or done as a portable study at the bedside. Responds to stat calls accordingly. Reports life threatening pathology to attending Physician or Fellow Responsible for the preparation of echocardiogram procedure including but not limited to equipment, supplies, instruments and appropriate paperwork.
