*The title of this role will be flexible depending on the candidate's level of experience.
As an Underwriter for Energy Casualty at The Hartford, your primary role will be to underwrite and actively pursue new business pricing, servicing the needs of our brokerage partners on an account by account basis. You'll analyze the agency book on quarter-to-quarter basis for potential action. In addition, you'll coaches and mentor staff on your team, providing support to junior underwriters.
Agency Management:
Typically manages higher volume and/or higher Total Written Premium goal compared to country-wide standard. May or may not act with high levels of Underwriting Authority. Creates, drives and executes on strategies for new and/or renewal accounts (prospective book management, executes on the mix strategy, low strategy, territorial and agency sales plans, etc.) Consults and provides solutions. Effectively provides excellent account management service of assigned division through strategic planning and operational excellence. Ensures the consistent delivery and execution of the Circle of Service process; tailoring a service plan for each client based on needs. Positively impacts and influences final account pricing and terms. Successfully sells the proposal. Responsible for, or influences, retention. Takes lead in communicating strategy to the agency; coordinates communications across the Enterprise; educates others on the strategy. Coaches and mentors others on Agency Management. Trusted advisor to agents and brokers; manages the book of business
Sales:
Establishes and maintains pipeline. Manages cross-sell and up-sell opportunities across team; generates cross-sell opportunities. Manages the sales process including planning, operating routines, and monitoring. Sources opportunities for other team members. Coaches and mentors others on sales practices. Is well versed about every aspect of The Hartford's Value proposition to best position us for success. Is professionally demanding and holds internal and external customers accountable.
Service:
Consulting with the agents to answer questions regarding coverage, explaining processes, directing the agents to appropriate resources within the Hartford based on their unique needs. Directs and coordinates identified service issues. Is highly familiar with how service operates. Makes recommendations to service; provides feedback to Service leaders
You're capable of underwriting highly complex business and will require limited support from senior underwriters and infrequent referral activity to complete quotes.
Qualifications:
5+ years of commercial underwriting experience; Experience underwriting General Liability and Umbrella preferred; candidates with less experience may be considered for an alternate titled position
Prior experience underwriting energy casualty operations (upstream & midstream oil & gas, renewables, alternative energy and/or mining) preferred
Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining solid relationships with all internal and external business partners
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
An ability to think analytically about business problems, make recommendations and propose solutions

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
98,800 to 196,800

Position Summary:
The Sr. Loan Processor will be responsible for processing auto loan contract packages to ensure each file is accurate and complete prior to funding by performing the following duties. Assists loan processing and funding managers with pipeline management, training of loan processors, handling complex loan files, responding to escalated calls, and may perform quality file reviews as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reviews and ensures submitted contracts and loan packages are complete, accurate and reflect proper approval authorities.
Closely inspects loan package documentation for suspicious or fraudulent documentation.
Verifies calculations on the contracts prior to funding and prepares completed files for funding.
Performs financial calculations such as income, payoffs, rebates and cancellation quotes, verification of employment, vehicle registration, driver's license, residence, and insurance coverage.
Conducts customer interview to validate information contained in the loan documents.
Serves as a liaison between Dealer, Loan Officers and Dealer Relationship Managers and assists in resolving funding issues.
Maintain confidentiality when accessing personal information of consumers, including, but not limited to, Social Security numbers and dates of birth.
Perform other ad-hoc tasks and duties as assigned.

Required Experience:
Minimum 2 years' experience in auto finance industry as a Loan Processor, or a similar position.
Education:
High school diploma and or/GED.
Skills Required:
In-depth knowledge of loan processing procedures, regulations, and guidelines.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in using lease software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Overtime required - required on an as needed basis.
Travel 0-10% - as required on an as needed basis.
Must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance to one of the following cities: Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; Phoenix, AZ.
