The Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) administers anesthesia to any patient undergoing a surgical procedure, obstetric procedure or procedure requiring anesthesia (CT, MRI, Bronchoscopy, TEE or IR) as designated by the supervising physician. The Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA), under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist observes patient progress, recommends changes in treatment plan of care based on patient's response to treatment and educates the patient to the purpose of the treatment and expected results/effects. TheOTA documents progress notes in the medical record; maintains departmental records and complies with regulatory agencies; demonstrates awareness of safety issues, indications/contraindications of treatment, patient privacy and confidentiality; provides support within the department as needed and within the community for education. Qualifications Age of Patients Served: All age groups Required Education: Associate's degree - Graduate of an accredited school for Occuptional Therapy Assistant approved by the Accreditation Council for Occupatioanl Therapy Education in collaboration with the Americal Occupational Therapy Association. Necessary Skills: Demonstrates knowledge and skill in a broad range of Occupational Therapy services and settings. Demonstrates strong communication skills. Demonstrates basic splinting skills. Performs polysomnograms MWTs, MSLTs, HSTs and downloading of equipment. Scores studies. Administers oxygen and nasal continuous positive airway pressure and employs ventilatory assist devices in accordance with established protocols. Recognizes at risk events and notifies appropriate physicians. Qualifications : Required Education: High School Diploma or GED. Preferred Education: Graduate of Electroneurodiagnostic technology program, either EEG, Respiratory, or Sleep. Necessary Skills: Ability to perform accurate and complete Polysomnograms, CPAP and BiPAP, ASV titrations, MSLT, MWT, Oxygen Titration studies in accordance with established policies and procedures and where required, score sleep studies greater than 85% concurrence. Required Licensure/Certifications: -RPSGT, RST or CPGST -BLS from the American Heart Association Required Experience: 3-5 years experience and demonstrated competency to perform all Polysomnographic studies. The Rehab Tech supports the delivery of rehabilitative care under direct supervision by clinicians and site leadership. Performs tasks related to cleaning and monitoring of equipment and supplies, assisting with patient care delegated by clinicians, cleaning and organization within the department areas, clerical support and patient flow/transport. Responsible for clinical decisions for all perioperative information technology (IT) systems. Functions as an internal consultant, resource person, and instructor to all levels of personnel in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the health system and the Information Technology department. Utilizing evidence based resources, clinical practice guidelines, and regulatory requirements to ensure standardized, required, and timely documentation. Lead and plan performance improvement and quality improvement initiatives which support the development of educational programs to facilitate research into nursing practices. Performs outcomes analysis of current programs to determine needed modifications to content to enhance patient outcomes, staff performance, clinical competence and professional development. Facilitates an environment that values and enhances research, knowledge and professional development. Leads and provides support to direct reports, which includes the Laser Safety Nurse, Division Nurse Educators, Perioperative Informatics Nurse, and Clinical Quality Nurse Leaders. Conducts mental health screening evaluations and determines and implements appropriate dispositions. Responsible for initial assessment of emergency room patients to include emergency mental status evaluations and dispositions recommendation assessments to identify appropriate resource utilization, discharge planning needs, mental health care needs and available related community resources.
