Maintains up-to-date licensure and certifications required for position.
Provides procedural assistance as a circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech, according to Angio lab policies and procedures and Scope of Practice documents.
Understands and operates IR equipment and related information systems appropriately to ensure that quality images are produced.
Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam. Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment for patients and staff. Develops specific knowledge about invasive, diagnostic, and interventional supplies, appropriate indications and applications, and proper use and deployment techniques.
Follows appropriate protocol for medical necessity, coding and charging guidelines, obtaining necessary consents, maintaining applicable QC programs, and reporting any equipment failures or problems.
Provides appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and address patient and/or family concerns.
Keeps accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions or incidents.
Coordinates patient care and communicates pertinent information to other patient care providers following procedure.
At the end of the procedure, suture the sheath in place, or remove the sheath and apply pressure to obtain hemostasis.

Who we are:
We are looking to add a surgeon to join our thriving and growing practice. The hospital is equipped with 2 dedicated surgery suites, 32 slice helical CT, Ultrasound, Voyant Vessel Sealer, Electrocautery, Companion CRT system to process PRP, Rehab room with an Underwater Treadmill and Endoscopy. We aspire to add an MRI and more equipment to our endoscopy unit (STORZ) to be able to perform laparoscopic surgery, thoracoscopy, arthroscopy, etc based on surgeon preferences. We regularly perform orthopedic surgeries (TPLO, fracture repair, FHO), neuro surgery (hemilaminectomy) in addition to the occasional more advanced soft tissue surgeries (cholecystectomy, median sternotomy, thoracotomy, liver lobe resection, etc). The hospital is supported with 24/7 support staff and doctor staffing until midnight (hoping to have doctors 24/7 in the near future). The position would entail a 3 or 4 day work week (3, 12s or 4, 10s) based on surgeon preference. No weekend or on call requirements however the ability to perform an emergent surgery on a weekend would be beneficial in the event it is warranted.

Work Environment
The majority of job duties are conducted indoors, although guest carryouts and veterinary visits will require that a partner leave the PCC briefly. Because this position requires bending, kneeling, moving merchandise (up to 50 pounds, as necessary) and standing for long periods of time, there may be risk of injury resulting from not following procedures. Ability and willingness to a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends to meet PCC needs.

Role Responsibilities:
Provide patients with the gold standard of care with compassionate restraint

Notate and observe hospitalized patients post procedure or during visit to the clinic
Administer injections of various medications to complete treatment plans created by the Veterinarian
Assist with CPR protocols, knowledge of emergency medications, and securing an airway.
Laboratory skills of prepping samples for urinalysis, fecal cytology/floatation, fine needle aspirates, general chemistries, hematology, heartworm testing, preparing samples to be shipped to other laboratories, and skin scraping. General operation and maintenance of a microscope.
General technical skills of IV catheter placement, venous draws from various vessels, intubation, and extubating.
Restraining for radiographs and identifying the area of interest
Admitting patients to the clinic
Properly calculate a dosage for medications and fluid rates
Provide the owners with education documents, resources and information. Directed by the veterinarian to communicate to the owner of how-to best care for their pet after a procedure or being hospitalized.
Being able to prepare patients, at the direction of the veterinarian, medications and provide the owner with clear instructions.
Maintain an organized and clean work area to provide a safe environment to team members and to patients
Understands usage and dosage for all prescription drugs and can readily explain them to the clients.

This position is responsible for the collection and receipt of biological specimens into the department, their proper entry into the company's computer system, the preparation of samples for analytical testing and/or the distribution of these specimens to the proper analytical area. This includes responsibility for pre and post aspects of analytical testing. This position will also perform specified analytical testing as assigned. Follows the guidelines of the Code of Conduct.
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. To include the following: 1) specimen collection 2) general laboratory specimen processing or 3) referral laboratory processing. In doing so, ensuring correct patient and specimen identification and specimen integrity by using appropriate techniques for all age criteria as required. In IOP locations, will manage client relationship within Compliance regulations to ensure that their needs are met and Sonora Quests' business objectives are satisfied.
2. Enters and verifies patient demographics, location, physician data, tests requested, time and date of collection, appropriate clinical information, and all other pertinent data found on requisitions and computer-generated orders as required for processing and billing. Verifies accuracy of entered information. Verifies appropriateness of specimens received. Aliquots and labels specimens according to established departmental procedures and practices, delivers specimens to the technical area in a timely manner and / or performs initial processing and preparation of samples for transport. May assist in monitoring workflow and training of new employees.
3. Focuses on quality by assuring that all work performed is accurate and complete. Completes documents legibly and accurately per site protocol. Follows established methods and practices. Maintains familiarity with departmental procedures. Uses appropriate documentation to record communications. Initiates computer generated reports as required for patient reporting and quality assurance monitoring. Meets departmental standards for productivity and quality as currently defined. Actively participates and provides input to dept/system via committees or Six Sigma teams. Maintains acceptable specimen rejection rates and meets the departmental standards for productivity and quality as currently defined.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or equivalent may be required dependent on state regulatory requirements.

Completion of a phlebotomy program or phlebotomy experience.
Position may require DHS Fingerprinting Certification or the ability to obtain fingerprint certification.
Dependent on department/location, candidate must possess a valid state driver's license in the state of employment and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.
Float positions require travel and flexible hours required to work multiple locations and required to cover at mobile phlebotomy facilities/in-office phlebotomy locations with minimal notice. Must be flexible and available based on staffing requirements, weekends, holidays and overtime. May be required to work occasional on-call duties weekends, evenings and early AM.
Progression through career ladder II-IV is subject to completion of career ladder requirements.
