JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Department of Sociology and Criminology at the Pennsylvania State University, University Park campus, invites candidates to apply for up to at least one Adjunct Part-Time Teaching Positions.
The position will involve teaching courses in Criminology at the undergraduate level. The ideal candidates will have a minimum of a master's degree (Doctoral Degree preferred) in Criminology, Sociology, or a closely related field. Teaching experience is required. We welcome candidates with applied experience in a justice-related field.

Bachelor's degree in a field of study reasonably related to rehabilitation counseling or another field that reasonably prepares individuals to work with individuals with disabilities and employers and two years of experience working with individuals with disabilities
• Intermediate Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor
Master's degree in a field of study closely related to rehabilitation counseling and one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities (Closely related fields are defined by Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification.)

Travel will be required for client meetings, outreach/events, office coverage.

Pennwood Cyber Charter School seeks high-quality, state certified teachers to serve as the staff of Pennwood. Working from a home office in Pennsylvania, certified Teachers virtually manage instructional programming at Pennwood Cyber Charter School using the telephone, Internet and various curriculum tools.
Adjunct teachers are part time. Compensation will be based on the specific course workload and number of enrolled students. The adjunct teacher must be able to complete work-related responsibilities through a combination of regular school hours in conjunction with ours scheduled outside the normal school day.
The adjunct teacher will be responsible for monitoring progress, evaluating work, preparing and delivering online instructional/tutorial sessions, providing academic guidance and being the subject-matter expert for a caseload of students. Complete all grading, lesson preparation, student and parent communications in a timely manner;
Develop a general knowledge of the K-12 curriculum and a very detailed knowledge of the courses for which responsible;
Review curriculum and devise alternate approaches to presenting lesson content to increase student understanding (working directly with students and parents);
Support students and parents with alternate strategies and help with daily assignments and projects, as well as additional assistance;
Communicate regularly with parents and students, through use of the Learning Management System and telephone;
Communicate with Advisory teachers and school counselors; report student issues and develop plans for student success;
Support Individualized Education Plans for students in courses for which responsible;
Engage in professional development and complete required trainings;
Other duties as assigned.

Pre-Employment Requirements:
• Candidates for this position shall be subject to a search of both the Child Protective Services Central Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 8-804 and the Adult Protective Services Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 46-459.
• Candidate shall have or meet the requirements to obtain prior to their first day of employment, a valid Level One Arizona fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-1758.07 in order to work with children and vulnerable adults.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitate doctoral courses students in the CBE Education program
Monitor curricula to ensure compliance with South College standards and other accrediting bodies.
Participate in course and curriculum evaluations and audits and implement recommendations as requested.
Mentor doctoral students in a 1 to 1 in course setting, where the student will attempt to demonstrate their mastery over competencies through the completion of assessments.
Respond to all student emails and inquiries within 24 hours.
Evaluate/grade all assessments within the allotted timeframe of the student submission.
Provide robust qualitative and quantitative feedback on student submissions.
Provide proactive and reactive outreach for students via email, phone conversations, and video conferencing. Consistent and direct communication with students in a variety of modes is essential to the success of this position and to the doctoral students at South College.
Requirements:
Education
Terminal degree in Education: PhD or EdD. Must be in one of the following areas: Adult Learning and Development, Teaching and Learning, Higher Education Leadership, Instructional Design and Technology, Organizational Leadership, Educational Leadership.
Experience
Substantial doctoral college teaching (5 years or more preferred) and evaluation experience in online modalities with doctoral students.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students and institutional staff.
Ability to develop courses in competency-based education.
Experience with both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
Substantial experience with learning management systems (Canvas preferred).
Prior experience evaluating and/or instructing in a competency-based education program at the doctoral level.
Professional Leadership experience.
Experience working with dissertation students and serving as dissertation Chair/Committee member.
