Position Summary
The Warehouse Lead helps coordinate the shipping, warehousing, and related support activities to assure compliance with applicable safety regulations, quality standards, and on-time completion of shipping product schedules. Works closely with other departments, such as Production, Quality Assurance, R&D, Warehouse, and Maintenance, as needed. This position ensures adherence to policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions. In support of cost-control efforts, this role identifies and helps resolve operations issues.
Essential Functions
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for all associates by heightening safety awareness through feedback of safe working techniques and housekeeping practices.
• Ensures effective training of employees in the areas of safety, quality, and operations procedural compliance.
• Aids in the development of an effective, well-skilled staff. Includes:
• Maintaining an effective process to continuously develop personnel to ensure trained replacements due to turnover.
• Providing timely and consistent feedback, and helping coach and motivate associates to exceed expectations.
• Ensures all loads are shipped per Michael Angelo's standards (pre-load inspections, temperatures, safety practices).
• Maintains accurate inventory levels and minimizes OS & Ds
• Communicates with carrier representatives for all information pertaining to scheduled loads prior to loading.
• Develops a course of action to ensure trucks are loaded at assigned appointment times according to outbound schedule.
• Ensures needed product is produced for scheduled loads prior to loading.
• Uses carrier information to establish course of action for late arrivals and pre-loads.
• Resolves driver issues and conflicts.
• Communicates shortage issues with Logistics Manager.
• Communicates all shipping issues to Shipping Supervisor.
• Follows all Company rules, including, but not limited to: SOPs, GMPs, Safety, PPE, and all rules stipulated by the USDA and FDA.
• Performs other related duties and special assignments as required.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

This includes leading warehouse personnel, purchasing, product receiving and storage, facilitating use of the Retail Management System, as well as auditing its data for accuracy, and performing all other responsibilities as directed by the business or as assigned by Management.
This is an exempt position and typically reports to the General Manager, depending on local requirements.
Essential Functions:
* Prepares daily scheduling of warehouse personnel in accordance with business needs
* Supervises and trains all warehouse associates
* Ensures purchases are in accordance with company specifications and are from approved vendors; provides feedback to Management regarding item and vendor issues
* Oversees the ticketing of all items to ensure the process is timely, accurate, and in accordance with company standards

The Warehouse Specialist, Lead is assigned to the Storage Section of the Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) and is responsible for the supervision, training, welfare and safety of assigned personnel. Responsible for the full execution of all tasks associated with the assigned area, i.e. inventories, issues, turn-ins, receipts, daily maintenance of assigned government equipment, bunker maintenance-inside and outside (vegetation control).
Loads, unloads, stacks, and stores ammunition, including rockets.
Reviews unit paperwork for accuracy and for compliance with existing regulations.
May conduct an informal safety inspection of vehicles entering the ASP. May escort unit personnel into the ASP, and identifies the correct ammunition by type, lot and location, and issues same to unit personnel.
Assist units with loading and securing the load, and may do so by use of a forklift, dolly, or other item of equipment.
Maintains accountability of all items issued and makes appropriate entries on the Magazine Data Card. May inspect loaded vehicles for proper blocking and bracing, and to ensure no violations of compatibility have occurred, and to ensure load is properly placarded prior to exiting the ASP.
Assists with the receipt of commercial vehicles transporting ammunition to the ASP by unloading, segregating, and placing into storage items contained in the shipment.
Assists with inventories, and with the thorough screening of turn-in items. Assists with the preparation of outbound shipments of live or unserviceable ammunition and explosives.
May assist in the packing, unpacking, inspection, re-warehousing process to include remarking/re-stenciling ammunition and containers.
