Watson Standard company history timeline

1900

Augustus Watson started the Napa Junction Company in 1900, which crushed and manufactured aggregate rock, the main ingredient in cement.

1902

In 1902, Watson sold Napa Junction to Standard Portland Cement Company.

1978

Basalt added new industrial buildings to the property as well as employee housing and operated until 1978.

1992

When the City of American Canyon was incorporated in 1992, it included 30 acres of Jaeger Vineyards property in the vicinity of the Ruins.

1999

In 1999, 83% of voters approved Measure C, pre-zoning an additional 70 acres to the town center.

2004

The Watson Ranch entitlements are scheduled for completion in Q3 2018. It was after the formation of the Jaeger-McGrath joint venture in 2004 that some real momentum began to build toward the goal: the creation of a Specific Plan to develop a mixed-use community on this site, approved by the City of American Canyon for development.

2010

In 2010, LAFCO approved the annexation of the Watson Ranch Specific Plan Area.

2018

The Watson Ranch entitlements are scheduled for completion in Q3 2018.
