**WSP's** **Cultural Resources Management Team** are located across the United States, with over 30 cultural resources professionals housed in our offices in **Louisville, Kentucky** ; **Lexington, Kentucky** ; **Kansas City, Missouri** ; **Ballwin, Missouri;** and **Jefferson City, Missouri** .
**WSP** has immediate openings for **on-call Field Archaeologists** with a long-term Phase III archaeological data recovery project at five multi-component Pre-Contact archaeological sites. The sites are located in close proximity to each other. and contain components dating from the Late Archaic through the Late Pre-Contact periods. It is probable that the sites contain the remains of the early use of plants of the Eastern Agricultural Complex, and experience on Pre-Contact sites, and with the identification and excavation of Pre-Contact features, is particularly desirable.
This is an on-call, hourly position. Hourly rates are industry competitive, (depending on North American CRM experience and regional archaeological experience).
Candidates local to Arkansas, Missouri, eastern Oklahoma, and eastern Kansas are ideal due to work location and schedule, but all qualified applicants will be considered. WSP also has ongoing Phase I, II, and III work in other states with additional upcoming work.
**Your Impact**
+ Assist with multiple Phase III data recovery projects (with additional work at Phase I and II levels), with specific tasks including:
+ archaeological test unit and shovel test excavation;
+ excavation of cultural features;
+ recovery and identification of archaeological artifacts and other materials;
+ use archaeological field forms to record archaeological data, including type and number of artifacts, soil color (Munsell) and soil textures, and other relevant information;
+ Work effectively as part of a team;
+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures;
+ Strictly abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Undergraduate degree in anthropology / archaeology or a closely related field;
+ Archaeological field school or similar archaeological field experience;
+ Self-motivated, physically able to conduct all aspects of fieldwork in all weather conditions, and be able to follow instructions.
**Additional / Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Prior experience with Pre-Contact archaeological sites in Arkansas, eastern Oklahoma, and the surrounding region;
+ Pre-Contact lithic artifact identification and analysis.

Your Impact
Conduct geotechnical investigations and laboratory testing programs. Typical projects include site investigation, dams and levees inspection, transportation, utilities and other civil works projects.
Perform geotechnical analyses including design of foundations, slope stability analysis, seepage analysis and settlement analysis.
Provide geotechnical support during construction.
Apply high-level geotechnical engineering techniques and processes to identify improvements for various infrastructure project phases involving more complex infrastructure and engineering work including concept development, preliminary design, final design, procurement, construction, and operation.
Perform professional geotechnical engineering work and conduct more complex/comprehensive investigations and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, including subsurface investigations, soil foundation engineering, settlement analysis, soil erosion, lateral earth pressures, geological hazards, underground water, slope stability, and operations to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, construction , or operating permits for commercial, industrial, building, environmental, infrastructure, and transportation projects.

Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, accurate reports, sketches, calculations, and illustrations for the interpretation or presentation of data, findings, or analyses.
Assist with development and scoping of small- to medium-sized projects.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
BS in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.
7-10 years of experience in geotechnical investigation and design, preferably in the areas of foundation design, dams and levees, and transportation infrastructure.
Licensed Civil Engineer in the State of Kentucky, or ability to obtain a Kentucky PE within 12 months.
Good understanding and knowledge of geotechnical engineering and related disciplines (Structures, Civil, Environmental, and Planning).
Good verbal and written communication skills (ability to communicate effectively with clients, regulators, other disciplines, managers, and other staff).
Experience using commercially available geotechnical software (i.e. Ensoft LPILE and GROUP, Bentley GeoStudio, RocScience SETTLE3).
Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, work independently, and comply with company policies.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a team.
Preferred Qualifications

This is an on-call, hourly position. Hourly rates are industry competitive, (depending on North American CRM experience and regional archaeological experience).
Candidates local to Arkansas, Missouri, eastern Oklahoma, and eastern Kansas are ideal due to work location and schedule, but all qualified applicants will be considered. WSP also has ongoing Phase I, II, and III work in other states with additional upcoming work.
