Essential Functions

Identifies patients and procedures. Communicate with nursing or physician concerning patient. Inform nursing of patients that need IV sedation or biopsies. Fill out questionnaires on all patients between the ages of 12-55 yrs. old. Positions patients accurately for all CT procedures. Patients are transferred and positioned correctly for anatomy to be demonstrated for best visibility. Know scanning protocols in depth. Must be able to perform procedures correctly using protocol book for reference. Studies must be done in a timely manner and taken to the radiologist for interpretation as soon as possible after completion of exam. Write time procedure is finished and filmed on patient board. Films must be archived and taken to radiologist for reading. Obtains appropriate supplies and prepares room for patient. Keeps room cleaned and stocked at all times. Adequate supplies and linens must always be available. Tables and trays must be cleaned after each patient. Use proper technique when injection IV contrast. Ensure IV is working and checked first with an injection of saline. Choose correct method of injection (hand or injector). Must be proficient in filming from imaging workstation. 3D imaging and multiplanar reconstruction. Responds to codes and other emergency situations appropriately.
Explains CT procedure to patient and/or family member. Obtains completed questionnaire and proper history and clinical from patient, floor or physician's office. Informs patients and families of all delays. Trains co-workers and students. Assist other technologists when not busy in assigned CT room.
Acquires requisition and checks for appropriate clinical. Charges procedure, supplies and surgical codes when exam is completed. Indicates no-film badge wearing name and fluoro time. Adds surgical charges when needed. Operates the PAC's system appropriately and verify studies before sending to archive. Reports equipment problems to supervisor, in-charge tech and documents confirmation numbers. Appropriate forms must be completed for all procedures. Fill out contrast sheet on all patients receiving IV and rectal contrast. A contrast media form must be filled out on all patients, CT forms must be filled out on all patients. Communicates with radiologist to determine appropriate protocols for each exam. Correct protocols are utilized as prescribed by the radiologist. Procedures must be performed as directed by the radiologist. Correct scans as performed. Demonstrates recognition of anatomy and pathology as related to scan being processed. Perform warm up calibrations as needed.

Area of expertise to ensure production of high quality images. Cleans equipment without damaging it. Keeps assigned area clean and organized.
Quality Control guidelines, State and Federal regulations and department policies/procedures.
Utilization of the Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS): Creates and Imports CDs. Notifies the department and/or PACS manager of any errors or outstanding problems with completing patient data.
Completion of Safety Reports. Basic scheduling in Community Wide Scheduling (CWS). Assists nurse in preparation of contrast media (CT only), removal of IV catheters (CT only), and all specialised procedures. Floats to both modalities as needed (Radiological/CT)
Operation of multiple radiographic units: Portable, C-arm, Fluoroscopy, Digital Radiography (DR), and Computed Radiography (CR)
Demonstrates Radiation and MRI Safety and Protection techniques to minimize hazards, including: ALARA, Dosimetry, Shielding, Collimation, and Magnetic field
Performs correct exam on correct patient: Utilize two patient identifiers: name and date of birth ( Using the Meditech requisition and the patient's ID band along with active communication with family), Verify the Meditech order with the physician's order ( Initial physician's order confirming verification.)
Follows the PACS and Meditech workflow: Reviews, approves and enters information in a timely and accurate manner after each patient. Including: ( Patient Tracking Data (exam start/end times), Technologist's notes and name, Correct patient history, Verifies orders, patient name, exam accession number, etc., Approves studies, Technologist's name on exams), QA resolution, Moving exams, and Notifies the department and/or PACS manager of any errors or outstanding problems with completing patient data.
Consults with the radiologist on duty to assure correct scanning parameters when necessary ( Trauma, Difficult and/or infrequent studies, Correct patient history )
Provides excellent patient care and creates an environment in which customers feel valued and respected.

Are you an R.T.? Credentialed by ARRT? Love serving patients? Put your experience and education to work making a difference in the lives of others! Our Radiologic Technologists provide care to our patients, wherever they call home. X-ray Technologists are provided with all needed resources; including vehicle and gas card, x-ray equipment, PPE, scrubs, etc..
STATUS: Full-Time
PAY RANGE: $28.00-$32.00
Hours: 2:00pm -12:30am; Wednesday- Saturday
ROLE: Provide mobile X-Ray and EKG (if applicable) services to our client base
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Interact with patients compassionately and professionally by driving company vehicle to each patient, within designated service area
Load and unload equipment from company vehicle, using ramps, and transport to each patients' bedside
Perform quality x-rays and EKGs to transmit to radiologist/cardiologist for interpretation
Maintain equipment cleanliness and maintenance schedule
Assist in other service areas, as needed
Submit accurate and timely timesheets, as per protocol
Other:
Scanning, filing, faxing, photocopying, mailing
Attend and participate in meetings
Demonstrate regular attendance
Train other technologists, as needed
Perform special projects or other duties, as assigned
Skills:
Basic computer knowledge
Basic ability to use mobile device and apps
Flexibility to adjust to changes and process improvements
Ability to work independently
Professional communication skills, both written and oral
Good driving skills
Requirements:
Completion of accredited Radiology program
Maintain required State licenses/ARRT Certification
Annual TB screens, physicals, and vaccinations, as required
Valid drivers license, in good standing
