Summary
The Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist (MHRS) teaches, models, and encourages the use of positive behavioral supports and specific behavioral interventions to assist children with high acuity needs to reduce functional impairment. A Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist provide interventions in homes, community, or other locations depending on client needs.
Education and/or Experience
AA Degree in psychology, social work, child development or related field plus 6 years' experience providing behavioral intervention to children and adolescents with emotional disturbances or intensive needs. B.A. or B.S. degree in psychology, social work, child development or related field plus 2 year experience working with children and adolescents with emotional disturbances
Ability to foster positive therapeutic relationships with clients, families, and other community program staff to ensure a collaborative approach is used at all times
Experience with skill building and rehabilitative work
Community resource awareness
The estimated base pay for MHRS is $21.00 to $28.00; additional individual compensation may be available. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefit program is available for qualifying position.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels and positions for which both education and experience are acceptable.

Job Description
GENERAL PURPOSE
Responsible for assisting members in meeting their expressed goals toward crisis resolution and maintaining wellness while living in the community. Additional support in areas of medication management, transportation, counseling, and advocacy will be provided as needed.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
This is an at-will direct service position within a program. The position is responsible for ensuring that the clinical needs of members are met and that necessary paperwork is complete and accurate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - (ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY)

Assess, coordinate, and facilitate the formal and informal support required to help individuals (6 years old and older), their caregivers, and support team to decrease crisis events and increase movement toward life goals; work in partnership with parents and caregivers who are treated as experts concerning their families.
Completes required paperwork; conducts strength/needs/biopsychosocial assessments.
Develops and participates in interdisciplinary team meetings.
Completes all tasks associated with both fidelity to the START Model, program certification of the START Model, and individual certification in the START Model.
Responsible for submitting/entering outcomes/incident data into the identified database or providing this to the person responsible for entering the information.
Coordinates care as needed, internally and with outside agencies. Coordinates care with system partners
With the direct input from the TAY and family, it helps to enlist the involvement of formal and informal community resources to support the family.
Develop individual treatment plans for each client and empower clients in meeting their goals; assist teams with development of service plans that reflect measurable objectives; provide group and individual therapy as indicated.
Make recommendations for improvement in the clinical program. Will have input on clinical issues as part of the clinical team.
Meets regularly with clients at Turning Point sites or in the field, at job sites, homes, board and care facilities, skilled nursing facilities, and other appropriate sites, and transports clients and families to appointments.
Coach clients and families in developing skills necessary to meet treatment goals.
Assist in establishing the client's eligibility for Medi-Cal or other benefits and advocate for continuation of benefits when appropriate.
Provide “on-the-spot” counseling that is both helpful to the clients and consistent with the philosophy of the program; Provide prompt intervention in the event of a crisis, both to stop the crisis and to notify, when indicated, persons and agencies necessary for the resolution of the crisis.
Complete paperwork as assigned promptly and meet agency standards for service productivity per month; all documentation meets funder, certifying body, and TPCP standards for content and configuration.
Provides, in person, after-hours, “on-call” coverage on a rotational basis to program clients.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES
Education, Training, and Experience
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities outlined above is through graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, and two (2) years of varied experience as a provider of mental health services.
Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:
California driver's license & current vehicle insurance/registration if driving; and,
Reliable means of transportation capable of passing vehicle safety inspection if more than five years old, excluding all modes of two-wheeled transport, inclusive of bicycles, mopeds, and motorcycles.
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and 4 years of relevant experience or
Master's Degree in a relevant field and 2 years of relevant experience.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM with on-call responsibilities.
Compensation: $34.00 - $38.00 an hour.

As our Head Lice Removal Technician, you'll be trained in our 100% all-natural lice removal process, which works every time! A typical appointment lasts about 2 - 2 ½ hours, during which you'll:
Remove all lice and nits from your client's hair with precision and care.

As our part-time Head Lice Removal Technician, you control your availability. You can choose how many appointments you take, anytime between 7 AM and midnight. The following experience and/or education is required to qualify for this position.
For GS-5: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-4 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the private or public sector) performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Aid or assistant to professional or specialist staff working with individuals who are addicted to or abuse alcohol and/or drugs, serve as a group leader in community or residential recreation or training programs, and/or perform as a counselor in a youth summer camp. This experience should provide you the ability to recognize deviations from normal behavior or problematic behaviors and report to the treatment team or appropriate staff.

Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree that (a) included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of subjects directly related to the work of the position; (b) included a major in social behavior, human behavior, or health care or; (c) was supplemented by experience in activities that afforded the opportunity to acquire and demonstrate the skills required by the position. (The supplementary experience may have been gained, for example, in part-time or summer employment, in volunteer social welfare or recreation programs, or in community organizations.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels and positions for which both education and experience are acceptable.

What You Will Do to Change Lives

Shifts Available:

Expected starting wage range is $21.00 - $23.24. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. This position also involves advocating for members in all areas of treatment and helping them apply for and receive services. Additional support in the areas of medication management, resource connection (e.g., housing resources, AOD, PCP, OP, etc.), counseling, and advocacy will be provided as needed. Involves providing after-hours, “on-call” coverage on a rotational basis based on program needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - (ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY)

Supports individual service plans for each client.
Maintains all client records and completes required documentation and data entry according to program standards, including progress notes, activity reports, and logs.
Meets regularly with clients at Turning Point sites or in the field, at job sites, homes, board and care facilities, skilled nursing facilities, and other appropriate sites.
Consults with or meets regularly with the client's family, care provider, or other significant persons with the client's consent.
Coaches clients in developing age-appropriate social skills, money management, personal hygiene, and job readiness.
Assists in establishing the client's eligibility for Medi-Cal or other benefits and advocates for continuation of benefits when appropriate.
Develops financial management plans for clients who receive Representative Payee Services and authorizes appropriate expenditures.
Interacts productively within the team to provide holistic case management services to an identified group of clients.
Provides “on-the-spot” counseling that is both helpful to the clients and consistent with the philosophy of the program.
Drives on program business using personal vehicle for medication outreach, home visits, transporting clients to appointments/activities, community/county meetings/trainings, and MH court.
Attends to the safety, health, and well-being of clients.
Completes paperwork as assigned promptly.
QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM:
Graduation from a four (4) year university or college with a bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field, and 2 years of varied experience as a provider of direct mental health services or meeting other Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist qualifications.
LICENSES; CERTIFICATES; SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
California driver's license & current vehicle insurance/registration.
Reliable means of transportation capable of passing vehicle safety inspection if more than five years old, excluding all modes of two-wheeled transport, inclusive of bicycles, mopeds, and motorcycles.
