Position Purpose: Visiting Angels Corsicana, TX is looking for a caring, compassionate RN to join our team and perform assessments for our In Home clients. We provide personalized, compassionate, non-medical in-home care for those individuals who, for whatever reason, are having difficulty caring for themselves. We specialize in providing assistance with the activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility, meal preparation as well as help around the house with light housekeeping, running errands and shopping. Our clients will range from simple companionship combined with some activities of daily living to more complex cases when 24 hour care is required. The Registered Nurse shall furnish services in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and work under basic principles of the professional nurse. All functions shall be performed by following the established policies and in compliance with state and federal regulations. The Registered Nurse reports directly to: Director. Classification: 1099 position Supervision Exercised: All caregivers. Principal Accountabilities And Essential Functions: The duties and responsibilities described below do not represent a comprehensive list for this position. Additional tasks may be assigned from time to time as necessitated by business demands. Responsible for supervising the caregiver staff. Conduct client assessments to determine care needs. Develop and oversee Plan of Care for different clients. Initiate the Plan of Care and make necessary ongoing revisions. Assure that the client and family understand the home Plan of Care and their responsibilities. Instruct or supervise the caregivers who are responsible for assisting the client with personal care needs. Make revisions to the Plan of Care, as required. Conduct orientation and training following agency guidelines. Maintain a safe environment for clients. Supervise, teach, and orient caregivers per agency guidelines and regulatory standards. Recognize and reward good job performance and promote caregiver recognition. Respond to and resolve client complaints or concerns. Maintain compliance with the state regulations affecting home care. Demonstrate knowledge of current health and homecare practices. Perform related duties and responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the management team. Maintain positive relationships with all clients and referral sources. Communicate and refer appropriate matters to direct supervisor for guidance. Maintain absolute confidentiality of all information pertaining to employees, clients and client's family members. Maintain regular predictable attendance. Participate in the quality assurance reviews and evaluations of the services provided to clients. On-call evenings and weekends, as directed. Keep on-call materials current with client information, instructions and directions, current roster of care and roster of active direct care staff. Prepare and maintain the on-call log, client and employee records. Manage calls in accordance with the company policies. Conduct in-home supervisory visits in accordance with agency guidelines and/or state licensure regulations. Conduct or participate in Employee Reviews as instructed by the director. Perform Employee correctives up to and including terminations as instructed by the director. Required Job Knowledge And Skills: Nursing degree from an accredited school of professional nursing. Currently registered/licensed with the Texas Board of Nursing. Prefer at least three years of nursing experience. Nursing/managerial experience in private duty home care preferred. Ability to make appropriate nursing judgments. Ability to listen and communicate clearly, fluently and diplomatically - both orally and in writing. Ability to remain flexible, resilient, and calm in all situations. Present a well -groomed professional image representative of the business. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, delegate and accurately complete work activities within specific deadlines while managing interruptions. Work independently and proactively with a minimum amount of direction and/or supervision. Ability to manage and coordinate client care with the caregiver while maintaining a pleasant and cohesive working relationship. Ability to generate goodwill for the Agency, with clients, their family members and referral sources. Demonstrate a strong commitment to client service excellence. Ability to lawfully work in the U.S. Physical/Environmental Demands: Combination of sitting, standing, bending, reaching, stretching, stooping, walking, climbing stairs and moving intermittently during working hours. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that enable these senses to function adequately to fully meet the requirements of this position. Must be able to properly operate office equipment. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
