Full-time Description
The Home Health Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) provides support to occupationaltherapists by assisting in the implementation of therapeutic interventions and patient care plans in a home setting. You will work directly with patients to enhance their daily living skills, improve their functional abilities and achieve their personal goals. Your role involves collaborating with the occupationaltherapists, patients, and their families to promote independence and improve quality of life.
Schedule: Full-Time, M-F, Day Shift
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Assistoccupationaltherapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and goals.
Perform therapeutic activities and exercise to help patients improve their daily living skills, including fine and gross motor skills, coordination, and cogitative functions.
Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques, adaptive equipment and home modifications to support functional independence.
Monitor and document patient progress, responses to therapy, and changes in condition, reporting significant findings to the supervising occupationaltherapist.
Provide guidance and support in the use of adaptive devices and assistive technology to enhance patients' ability to perform daily activities.
Collaborate with the occupationaltherapist and other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to patient care.
Assist with patient mobility and transfers as needed, ensuring safety and comfort during therapy sessions.
Maintain accurate and up to date patient records and documentation in compliance with regulator and organizational standards.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices and advancements in occupational therapy.
Perform all other duties assigned.

Requirements
Job Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program from an accredited institution.
Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) license in the state where work is performed.
2 or more years of OTA experience, preferably in a home health or similar setting.
Knowledge of occupational therapy principles, techniques, and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to build rapport with patients through a compassionate and caring demeanor.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and transfer patients, with or without assistance, up to 50lbs.
Capability to perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, walking, and climbing stairs for extended periods.
Strength to handle therapeutic equipment and assist patients with mobility and physical activities.
Visual acuity and dexterity for performing tasks such as reading medical records, administering injections, and handling therapeutic tools.
Ability to respond swiftly and efficiently to emergency situations.
Capacity to work in various home environments which may include navigating stairs, tight spaces, or uneven surfaces.
Maintain regular attendance and timeliness as set forth within the work schedule designated by the department supervisor/manager.
Job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high-stress situations.
The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without "giving out" or fatiguing.

A Brief Overview
The OccupationalTherapist is responsible for planning and providing occupational therapy for a temporarily or permanently disabled patient in accordance with professional and MLH standards of treatment.Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
What you will do
Performs initial patient assessments.
Implements patient treatments based on assessment and written plan.
Provides ongoing patient assessment through observation of patient and records.
Identifies patient specific Occupational Therapy rehabilitation learning needs and provides appropriate education.
Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for self-development and enhancement of professional competency.
Education/Formal Training Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Occupational Therapy
Work Experience Requirements

Licenses and Certifications Requirements
OccupationalTherapist Tennessee - Tennessee Board of Occupational Therapy
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to understand and prepare moderately complex written materials, such as patient records.
Ability to communicate verbally with Associates, physicians and other outside professionals.
Ability to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgment.
Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects and maintain control of work flow.
Supervision Provided by this Position
There are no supervisory responsibilities assigned to this position. May provide guidance and direction to therapy assistants.
Physical Demands
The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
Must have good balance and coordination.
The physical requirements of this position are: medium work - exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.
Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.
Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.

Part-time Description
We are currently seeking a PRN OccupationalTherapist (OT) to join our growing home health team. In this flexible, per-diem role, you will provide skilled occupational therapy services to patients in their homes throughout the Cincinnati area, helping them regain function, independence, and confidence in performing daily activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized care plans.
Provide skilled occupational therapy services in the home setting.
Instruct patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, adaptive equipment, safety techniques, and activities of daily living (ADLs).
Monitor patient progress, reassess needs, and modify care plans accordingly.
Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team.
Document all services provided accurately and in a timely manner.
Travel to patient homes throughout Cincinnati and surrounding areas.
Maintain flexibility with scheduling during daytime hours, Monday through Friday.
