**Job Description**
AECOM is seeking a dynamic **Senior Interior Designer** to serve as a member of the growing architecture studio in **Columbus, Ohio** . They will be part of AECOM's Building + Places team helping to support projects across a diverse set of market sectors including Education, Workplace, Healthcare, Civic/Cultural, Federal, Transportation, and Water Resources.
Our **Buildings + Places** practice includes architecture, interiors, building and system engineering, urbanism, and planning and landscape design, strategy +, economics, technology solutions, asset advisory, and cost and program management. This team assists our clients from strategy through project realization, creating positive outcomes for those who occupy and use the buildings and environments we help to create. Our practice focuses on the Commercial/Corporate, Science and Technology, Higher Education and Federal market sectors. We look to combine beauty, sustainability, resiliency, and innovation in our projects and believe these values can be instilled in any project regardless of size or budget.
**Responsibilities of the Designer include but are not limited to:**
+ Collaborate with project teams to develop the approach for project pursuits, proposals and interviews.
+ Work with design leaders to initiate overall design strategy and design approach for projects.
+ Lead and drive the development of design projects, including all aspects of Interior Design.
+ Lead development of design presentations and graphic visualization.
+ Lead, evaluate and synthesize project programming information.
+ Develop and complete full contract document sets, including floor plans, elevations, RCP, millwork, details & specific schedules.
+ Develop and complete full FF&E procurement packages, including furniture specifications and budget estimates.
+ Coordinate with consultants, including architectural, lighting, landscape, structural, MEP, AV and IT.
+ Ensure continuity and consistency of design deliverables, and meet project schedules, budgets, and deadlines.
+ Assist in construction administration, including responding to RFI's, preparing sketches and addendums, and visiting the construction site to gather information and/or prepare punch lists.
+ Consult with manufacturers, research and evaluate FF&E, materials and products.
+ Create graphics and presentation materials, including renderings of conceptual design ideas and graphic diagrams.
+ Participate in client meetings and presentations.
+ Incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
+ Lead charrettes and the generation of design ideas.
+ Collaborate to elevate design thought and awareness in studio as we aspire to succeed as creative thinkers and innovators.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor's in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or equivalent major
+ Minimum of 6 years experience in designing commercial interior projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ 10 years experience in designing commercial interior projects
+ Excellent Revit and Rendering skills
+ Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch-up, Enscape or other 3D modeling software
+ Ability to produce and coordinate a complete set of construction documents for permit and bid
+ Advanced knowledge of furniture, fixtures, equipment, finishes, lighting, and signage
+ Ability to produce and coordinate a complete set of FF&E procurement documents
+ Knowledge of construction materials, details, and standards
+ Knowledge of building regulations and safety codes
+ NCIDQ Certification (or within 12 months of employment)

AECOM is seeking a Water/Wastewater Intern to be based in Columbus, Ohio.
This position is expected to begin in May or June 2026.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.
As an intern, the candidate will gain experience in programs such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and PCSWMM while working on a variety of water treatment, wastewater treatment, green infrastructure, and storm/sanitary sewer projects. Having prior experience with any of these programs is helpful, but the candidate will have local peer mentorship on these programs to gain experience.
Fieldwork may be required, but the majority of the time will be spent in the office.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental Engineering or a related field, and must have completed at least 1 year of study. HDR is seeking a Bridges and Structures Section Manager in our Columbus office to lead and grow our structures team. The Section Manager will be responsible for management of structures staff, delivery of project submissions, staff development, project profitability, staff morale, and quality control. They will function as a Project Manager or Project Engineer on large / complex infrastructure projects. They will be involved in business development planning, client management, proposal preparation, and interviews. The Section Manager will see that all work is planned, organized, controlled, and evaluated through a pro-active project management system, and subsequently implement, monitor, and support company policies. They will also select, train, and develop technical personnel and work cooperatively with Area Leadership, National Directors, and Marketing Leads.
They will also be counted on to:
* Coordinate with our other Area Section Managers to balance staff workload, provide/identify staff training opportunities, and identify/pursue business development opportunities
* Lead multi-disciplined transportation design teams as a Project Manager or Project Engineer for local and workshare projects
* Perform technical design for DOT and local agency highway bridges, along with bridge load ratings

* Establish client relationships and lead marketing of new and existing clients
* Lead the development of proposals, project scopes, schedules, and budgets

The position could begin as early as January 2026.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
As an entry-level engineer, candidate will gain experience in programs such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, PCSWMM while working on a variety of water treatment, wastewater treatment, green infrastructure, and storm/sanitary sewer projects.
Builds analytic and design skills.
Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
Having prior experience with any of these programs is helpful, but candidate will have local peer mentorship on these programs to gain experience.
Fieldwork may be required, but the majority of the time will be spent in the office.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a related field + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.
Valid U.S. Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.

Primary Responsibilities
HDR is currently in need of a Project Manager to advance the planning, design and construction administration of water and wastewater facilities projects in Ohio. It is envisioned this candidate would have a mix of client development, project management, and project delivery responsibilities.

Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Mid-Level Fire Protection Engineer to join our growing Ohio Fire Protection Group, based in Cleveland or Columbus, Ohio. This position offers the opportunity to support and lead design efforts on complex and high-profile projects across several markets.
The Ohio Fire Protection Group supports a wide range of building types and industries, giving engineers exposure to nearly every aspect of the fire protection profession. Our projects include federal and DoD facilities, cultural centers, airport infrastructure, laboratory and cleanroom, higher-education buildings, historic renovations, and industrial manufacturing sites. This diversity provides exceptional opportunities for technical growth and cross-market experience.
The selected candidate will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and architects across the U.S. and will play a key role in delivering technically sound, code-compliant, and innovative fire protection and life safety solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design active fire protection systems, including automatic sprinklers, standpipes, fire pumps, and fire alarm/mass notification systems.
Prepare construction drawings, specifications, narratives, and Basis of Design (BOD) documents using AECOM templates and standards.
Develop hydraulic calculations in accordance with NFPA standards, UFC 3-600-01, and project-specific criteria.
Support the design of special hazard systems (e.g., clean agent, water mist, foam, explosion control) as applicable.
Conduct code reviews in accordance with the IBC, IFC, NFPA (13, 14, 20, 72, 2001, etc.), and UFC standards.
Participate in multi-discipline coordination meetings and collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural teams.
Review contractor submittals and RFIs, and provide construction-phase support, including field inspections and acceptance testing observation.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Familiarity with NFPA standards and the International Building and Fire Codes
U.S. citizenship due to the nature of the work
Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Revit and AutoCAD
Experience designing sprinkler and/or fire alarm systems
