Job Description
AHRC NYC is currently seeking
Per-Diem Residential Habilitation Counselors (RHC)
to work one on one with people in their private homes and communities
in all five boroughs
. The RHC provides one to one services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the areas of Activities of daily living(ADL) Skills Training Development, Socialization, Recreation and Leisure Activities, and Utilization of Community Resources.
The RHC position is a part-time/per-diem position with a pay rate of $18 per hour.
Shifts are primarily in the afternoons, evenings or weekend mornings or afternoons
Shifts are usually 4-6 hours long. Typical Monday-Friday shifts are 2pm-7pm, 3:30pm-8:30pm or 4pm-8pm etc. Monday to Friday
Weekend shifts are typically 9am-2:00pm, 10am-3pm, 2pm-6pm etc.
Essential Responsibilities:
We are seeking patient, understanding, and team oriented people to support people with I/DD in community participation, advocacy and building meaningful relationships.
Must be willing to teach, provide counseling, be capable of problem solving, and willing to assist or complete Activities of Daily Living (i.e. preparing meals, cleaning, attending to hygiene needs).
Must provide the oversight of all safety and health considerations for the person supported while promoting skill development and exploring the person's interest and hobbies.
Must be willing to work with a person supported on a one to one basis, or work with people supported in a group setting across a variety of environments.
Qualifications
Experience with the I/DD population is Preferred but not required

A Family Enrichment Center (FEC) is a family-centered, place-based primary prevention approach, where all members of the community have access to and may benefit from both structured or spontaneous activities and events (called “offerings”) that strengthen family protective factors to increase child and family well‑being and promote stability. FEC offerings are available to everyone, regardless of current or past child welfare involvement.
The goal of the Family Enrichment Center (FEC) is to enhance child and family well‑being by providing access and support to enable the strengthening of family protective factors inherent in its residents and community by building mutual community connections, capacity, and resilience.
In partnership with FEC staff, families will drive the planning, development, and sustainable co‑ownership of the centers. Families who participate in the FEC programming will be encouraged to share their expertise by volunteering at the center and given meaningful opportunities to engage with neighbors and peers. The goal of the FEC is to strengthen families' protective factors and build community connections, capacity, and resilience.
Position Summary
The Family Advocate is responsible for contributing to the day‑to‑day operation of the FEC including building connections with other staff, residents, and community partners; co‑designing and delivering relevant programming and activities (offerings); providing advocacy and making referrals for participants; and creating a warm and inviting gathering place for families and individuals using the protective factors model to support community resilience.
Responsibilities
Coordinate meetings, provide support, and collaborate with a team of local parents, subject experts, and other residents to deliver monthly events and activities (offerings) held at the FEC.
Foster a culture of respect built on the belief that families and communities possess the inherent strengths and knowledge needed to succeed given the right access to opportunities and support.
Provide advocacy, outreach, and referrals to connect participants to service providers and other programs that have resources to offer.
Engage groups of local community members of all ages and guide them through the co‑designed activities and programming of the FEC.
Manage enrollment and attendance at offerings and events.
Care for and attend to the physical space of the FEC program to ensure it is safe, welcoming, organized, and appealing to participants and community members.
Handle inventory and ordering/purchasing responsibilities to keep the site running and ensure needed food and supplies are stocked for offerings.
Effectively utilize tracking and reporting mechanisms and accurately enter data and run reports in the FEC website and other agency databases as needed to obtain program‑level data, compiling statistical or written reports for agency and external stakeholders.
Manage the FEC website to communicate with and engage members.
Use Appreciative Inquiry and other strength‑based tools to engage community members in co‑designing offerings.
Create monthly calendars, website content, and other outreach tools to promote and document offerings.
Participate and engage with the FEC team in learning collaboratives facilitated by ACS with other FEC teams from across the city.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree and three (3) years of professional experience; or a high school diploma and five (5) years of professional experience in community-driven programs working directly with children, youth, and families.
Reside in or near the FEC community, or reside close enough to arrive promptly, in the event of an emergency.
Bi‑Lingual either /Mandarin &/or Cantonese is required.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to warmly connect with and engage children, youth, and adults individually and in groups.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Familiar with the community and its assets and resources, such as other programs, services, supports, local civic groups, and community leaders.
Experience in developing and running a group, a club, or coaching a team preferred.
Experience caring for children (as a parent, guardian, relative, neighbor, or babysitter) preferred.
Ability to perform multiple tasks effectively in a fast‑paced, challenging, and constantly changing environment.
Must have a commitment to work from a trauma‑informed, strength‑based, youth and family development perspective.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, attending community events as needed.

Statement of the Job
The Early Head Start (EHS) Family Worker is responsible for the programs' parent involvement. The Family Worker in consultation with Family Service Coordinator and other staff serves as a liaison between the center and parents from the community the program serves. Under the supervision of the Family Service Coordinator, the Family Worker will be responsible to assist in recruitment, interviewing, and registration efforts in accordance with the Agency's policies and Head Start Regulations to determine eligibility of qualified individuals.
Conducts In-Takes and Family Partnership Agreements; shows parents around the center.
Elicits social and developmental information on the child, and shares this information with teachers and other staff keeping with the requirements of the family's confidentiality.
Responsible for inputting information in the data master, completing documentation, preparing required reports to document compliance with guidelines on in-takes, eligibility, priorities, classroom attendance and records; responsible for In-Kind Reports.
Receives and verifies financial and other information needed to determine eligibility as required.
Contacts the families to receive information, referrals, and other services such as employment mental health, counseling, housing, etc. as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma required.
2 years of experience in Human Services required.

BIS - Day Habilitation Program - We are looking for committed and energetic Behavior InterventionSpecialists (BIS) who will conduct, assess and develop behavior support plans, address challenges and train our Direct Support Professionals (DSP) in the Day Habilitation Program. (Monday - Friday shifts available at one of our 12 Day Hab locations, depending on need and availability)
BIS - Residential - Behavior InterventionSpecialists (BIS) for the Residential program must be able to travel to assigned residential locations in Manhattan, Bronx, Queens and Long Island locations. As a BIS you will provide functional behavioral analysis and behavior/psychological assessments, develop and monitor behavior support plans and assist with the development and implementation of individual goals. These roles can have some flexibility in start and end times, with weekly office hours. Please Note: These roles have some autonomy, but the BIS is required to drive and travel to assigned QSAC locations.
BIS - Family Services Behavior InterventionSpecialists (BIS) provide 1 to 1 services in the individual's home and community. Applicants should have knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). The BIS will work with the individual, family and Direct Support Professional (DSP) staff to develop and monitor Person Centered Service Plans to assist the individual in achieving their personal goals.
Positions are available in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Long Island. The position requires traveling to the individual's home and other locations in the community. Flexible schedule which requires some evening and weekend hours.
Please Note: QSAC requires Master degree requirements for BIS candidates for Day Hab and Residential programs, we can consider candidates with Bachelor degrees for the Family Services department and QIDP roles!

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience:
Bachelor s Degree in related field
Requires knowledge of child and adolescent development normally acquired through the completion of a baccalaureate degree in child development, child and family development or related field of study.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in child life setting or equivalent position.

SUMMARY:
This position will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the program at the school site. The Crisis InterventionSpecialist works closely with the principals, counselors, students, parents, community members, and other concerned individuals to ensure that identified Communities In Schools of Southeast Harris and Brazoria County programs are provided. Bilingual applicants preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
Coordinates services for identified students and families during the school day and possibly before and after school.
Interview students and/or parents and/or guardians with problems such as personal and family adjustments, abuse, criminal conduct, finances, employment, food, clothing, housing, and physical and mental impairments to determine the nature and degree of the problem.
Secures information such as medical, psychological, and social factors contributing to a student's situation and evaluates these and the student's capacities.
Counsels students individually, in family, or in other small groups regarding plans for meeting needs and aids students to mobilize inner capacities and environmental resources to improve social functioning.
Helps students to modify attitudes and patterns of behavior by increasing understanding of self, personal issues
Maintains working knowledge of community resources and agencies and connects the appropriate resources to individual students' and families' needs
Refers and follows up with student and/or parent and/or guardian to community resources and other organizations.
Compiles records and prepares reports, meeting required deadlines in a timely manner.
Review the service action plan and perform follow-up inquiries to determine the quantity and quality of services provided to the student and the status of the student's case.
Accesses and records student and community resource information.
Secures supplementary information such as free and reduced lunch status, discipline reports, grades, and other school data reports necessary to assess the student's needs accurately.
Actively involve volunteers in their areas of interest and expertise.
Work closely with principal(s) and counselor(s) to effectively structure programs, meeting the needs of the individual campus setting. When required, determines student's eligibility for financial assistance.
Effectively meeting the objective of the CIS-Crisis Intervention program through individual mentoring and/or counseling and/or organized group sessions.
Organizing and maintaining student case files in compliance with the Perfect File Checklist as outlined by CIS.
Plan, organize, and implement program design to meet the needs of the students and families effectively.
Relate, motivate, and encourage students, parents/guardians and/or administrators, faculty, and staff.
Have knowledge of Southeast Harris and/or Brazoria County resources.
Must be able to interact positively with a diverse group of individuals of the school, city, and state entities.
Compile and submit reports and information in a timely manner.
Exhibit excellent work attitude, strong work ethic, and self-motivation.
Be responsible for program planning and implementation of objectives.
Facilitate, develop, and/or conduct workshops as deemed necessary by the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and/or Program Director.
Encourage and motivate parents to become actively involved along with their children in school activities.
Work with students and parents to implement recreational and extracurricular activities to enhance self-esteem and reinforce developmental skills.
Work with parents, students, and staff in CIS fund-raising activities and provide a financial report following each activity.
SUPERVISION
The Communities In Schools of Southeast Harris and the Brazoria County Crisis Intervention Program Director supervise the site coordinator. (See organizational chart)
EDUCATION
Masters Degree is strongly preferred in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
LICENSE
Licensure in either psychology, social work, or a related field is required.
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of three years experience in a work setting. Must be able to work with students and parents of low and medium incomes and interface with various school and community members.

An individual must be able to effectively utilize a software program (CISTMS) used for data entry after reasonable training has been conducted. The Site Coordinator is required to do data entry into the software program, maintaining detailed student activities for state-wide reporting purposes.

Job Description
AHRC NYC is looking for a Crisis Intervention Clinician for their Bronx program to provide behavior management counseling to families at home and at other sites.
Salary: $42,000-$66,000k per year plus a low-to-no cost, comprehensive health benefit package. See Benefit information below.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Receives referrals and interviews the person, the person's family and service providers (as appropriate).
Provides behavior management counseling to persons and their families at home, at schools and at other sites as needed.
Develops behavior management plans when indicated, teaches their use and monitors their ongoing implementation and effectiveness.
Arranges for or provides clinical assessments to determine the person's functional abilities and service needs.
Makes referrals when indicated.
Opens and maintains logs for all individuals and families served including documentation of each contact, relevant DDP forms and evidence of appropriate follow-up (post-crisis stabilization) once the family is no longer actively receiving services. Assures that these procedures are followed by other program staff.
Responds to Program answering services as well as direct calls on a rotating basis.
Assists in the preparation of monthly report of activities, forwarding to supervisor within five working days of the end of the month.
Performs all duties necessary for compliance with relevant regulations governing service provision, including recordkeeping.
Deals with people in a legal and ethical manner.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Follows level of service requirements of relevant contracts.
