This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Responsibilities and Reporting During an Emergency Situation: Essential Employees may be required to work during a declared emergency. Depending on the nature of the emergency, this may require working around the clock for several days on short notice. Non-Essential Employees will not be required to work during a declared emergency. The employee's Department Head will determine when the employee will be required to work. Duties/Responsibilities * Patrol assigned areas looking for traffic crashes, abandoned/disabled vehicles. * Investigate traffic crashes. * Report writing; knowledge of Florida Statutes. * Conduct preliminary investigations on past occurred crimes. * Proper storage and section assignment of said evidence, safe keeping and found property. * Pull items for I.D. section to process. * Entering of items into computer * Process crime scenes on past occurred crimes. * Participate in traffic control. * Implement effective community relations. * Assist in crime prevention programs. * This position requires regular and reliable attendance and the employee's physical presence at the workplace * Performs other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES * Proficient in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software. * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. * Ability to operate necessary equipment, including vehicle, two-way radio, and camera, mobile dispatch terminal, personal computer, copier, facsimile machine and other standard office equipment. ESSENTIAL LEADERSHIP TASK Works a variety of shifts which include second and third shifts, as well as weekends Enters accurate objective documentation into the Mission Tracker system. Checks daily to ensure residents' living areas are properly maintained and in compliance with Shelter guidelines Assists in directing child care, school enrollment, and other family programming responsibilities. Supervise family dorms, evaluate cleanliness. Create structured routine and consistent program guidelines with families. Prepares and maintains objective case notes and/or comments on residents during the week; including follow up. Assessing child and family needs to create referrals to agencies based on resident's need and in accordance with their case plan. Performs random bed checks to make sure that all residents are accounted for when providing overnight shift coverage Assist in use of NCEF funds for family needs Administers random drug screens on residents as required Sorts hygiene supplies into the appropriate storage containers Creates a minimum number of hygiene kits while working the front desk shift Removes and stores discharged residents' personal items per program guidelines Provides transportation for residents to appropriate appointments and events Has knowledge of the phone system and how to transfer calls Works as a team with other staff members to ensure completion of assigned task Properly screen individuals who are attempting to enter the shelter after hours Assist and support the intake department with various tasks as needed Treats all residents with respect and exercises appropriate boundaries with residents Has knowledge of all guidelines located in the Shelter Handbook and carries the responsibility of holding residents accountable for guidelines Presents the Gospel message to residents when the opportunity is available. Physical ability to set up equipment, stand for extended periods, and lift moderate weights.
