JOB SUMMARY
The Rehabilitation Aide works under the supervision of the Rehab Supervisor and Director of Rehabilitation, supporting the Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy teams, as well as the LTC Rehabilitation Supervisor. This position assists in maintaining department efficiency and ensuring staff and patient safety by providing support during evaluations and treatments as directed by licensed therapists or therapy assistants. The Rehabilitation Aide is responsible for delivering high-quality, value-based care in alignment with Campbell County Health's mission, vision, and values. Additionally, this role contributes to program development and department initiatives aimed at enhancing patient and resident outcomes and achieving organizational performance goals across the continuum of care.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
Prepare patients for treatment according to therapist's guidelines.
Assists physical/occupational/speech therapist in seeing all patients in a timely manner.
Demonstrates proficiency in therapy equipment preparation, use, and care.
Practices service excellence through the delivery of clean, appropriately sized DME, including walkers, wheelchairs, and cushions, to all new admissions' rooms prior to their arrival at The Legacy.
Cleans and maintains all gym equipment and ensures proper care and storage of wheelchairs and adaptive equipment.
Washes all therapy gait belts once weekly.
Completes cleaning of therapy cushions once no longer in use by patient/resident and stores
Cleans hydrocollator monthly and maintains a daily temperature log per established Rehabilitation department policy.
Removes unlabeled or expired food items from staff and patient refrigerators and maintains a daily temperature log as established per Rehabilitation department policy. Orders replacement stock for patient refrigerator.
Cleans and prepares all treatment areas including ADL kitchen.
Is primarily responsible for the maintenance of supply, equipment and orthotic inventories, to include maintaining proper stock, ordering replacement stock, researching new items and placing orders for such items.
Coordinates the Occupational Therapy Bath schedule for patients/residents.
Assists with Occupational Meal authorizations forms as needed for treatment.
Ensures all wheelchairs, and adaptive equipment for each patient/resident is appropriately labeled with use of green wristband to correctly identify to whom it has been assigned and audits monthly.
Faxes therapy updates and confirms receipt to insurance providers, and Nu Motion and other entities as needed.
Schedules Legacy jeep as needed for Legacy home visits and Home Health Care patients (responsible for fueling and washing as needed).
Timely completion of projects and audits as assigned and communicates results to Rehabilitation Manager.
Provides excellent customer service.
Uses professional and courteous phone etiquette.
Takes and properly relays accurate telephone messages to the appropriate parties.
Uses the department scheduling system to make, adjust and correct patient and therapist schedules.
On occasion, may be required to register patients for service(s).
Works required workday hours and periodic weekend coverage to meet patient needs.
Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations.
Meets all core competencies and mandatory education.
Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.
Complies with the hospital's Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.

* Mentors, empowers and advocates for students and their families to help them gain independence with their health care needs.
