The Delivery Driver will work with other members of the Final Mile team to ensure complete, accurate and on-time deliveries to the company's customers. Delivery Driver will represent the company in a highly professional, safe, and effective manner at all times. This position interfaces with consumers regularly therefore professional attitudes and behavior are critical. Essential Job Functions: Responsible for executing deliveries on a larger route that may include in-home delivery and assembly via driving and operating a 26 foot truck with a lift gate safely, under Updike's Safety Policies as a team with co-driver Prepare truck for operation by loading, securing, and verifying the accuracy of items to be shipped Maintain communication with company and consumers during route to ensure proper handling and timing Complies with all company vehicle safety standards and documentation Light assembly of furniture as needed Maintain appearance of delivery truck by daily cleaning of the inside of the truck Ability to demonstrate proper phone etiquette while making calls to the consumers Ability to utilize a phone or tablet technology in accordance with essential job functions Previous experience as a delivery driver for a moving company, and/or any appliance company Clean MVR record as per our company fleet safety policy. Solid customer service skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos Ability to multi-task, work within a team environment, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge: General knowledge of DOT regulations is preferred
