Strongsville, located in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, is part of the Process Technology Business Unit providing customer Process Equipment in chemical applications located in North, Central and South America. The Strongsville team designs and machines, fabricates and assembles the Process Equipment which includes Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers, Block Heat Exchangers, Plate Heat Exchangers, Pumps, Columns, Quenches and Systems. Assembler Position Summary This position requires the assembly of components that make up the product line of SGL CARBON TECHNIC. Product line includes items such as heat exchanger and parts (tube sheets, headers, baffles), systems and parts (trays, cylinders). Strong blue-print reading skills are required, as well as experience in working with basic tooling (i.e. torque wrenches) and measuring equipment (i.e. micrometers, gauges). Good communication skills with the other assemblers, machinists, and engineering groups are also required. Salary Range: $16.66 - $23.31 1st shift: 6am-2:30pm Monday - Friday This position performs assembly work of a moderately complex nature with pre-cut, drilled and edged materials to produce a quality finished good of specified materials, dimensions, and color. Responsibilities and Essential Functions: * Assembles all components and fixtures of manufactured products in the warehouse, in a timely manner that meets the production schedule and quality requirements. * Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. * Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements. * Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies. * Verifies specifications by measuring completed component. * Inspects each product assembled to ensure it meets quality standards. FUNCTION: Performs mechanical assembly work with varying degrees of complexity. Regular exposure to hydraulic fluids, industrial lubricants, electrical components, and metal fabrication debris. High noise levels from heavy machinery, pneumatic tools, and crane operations. Temperature-controlled facility though work areas may experience heat from large electrical components during testing phases. We are looking for individuals who thrive on making an impact and want the excitement of being on a team that wins. **Job Description** We are presently seeking an **Assembler** that will perform any combination of the following tasks to assemble electronic components, subassemblies, products or systems. **Schedule: 4/10 Mon-Thurs** **Location: Miamisburg, OH** **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** + Receives detailed instructions on all work, under close supervision. + Positions, aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in fixture or other holding device. + Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as soldering, potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy, bonding, curing, laser welding, operation of pneumatic machinery, pneumatic presses, etc. + Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases or other packing material. + May perform assembly operations under microscope or other magnifying device. + Mounts assembled components such as resistors, capacitors and integrated circuits. + Connects components, wires to printed circuit or route via soldering. + Adjusts, trims materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics. + Performs inline testing, inspection using measuring instruments and electrical test equipment to ensure parts and assemblies meet production standards. + Ability to cross train on other programs in the facility. + Perform various repair/rework operations using approved written procedures. + Utilizes schematics and blueprint drawings to complete work. + Intermittent OVERTIME, typically completed on Fridays. + Other duties as assigned. **Job Qualifications:** + Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. + Six to twenty-four (6-24) months of industrial experience or similar training is preferred. + Ability to read schematics and assembly prints, as well as being thoroughly familiar with such assembly operations as wiring, welding, bonding and soldering is preferred. + Certain job assignments require the ability to obtain and maintain an IPC/J-STD Certification within 90 days of employment and throughout your tenure. + Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 is a plus. + Ability to obtain an ATF Possessor Permit. + Must be able to effectively communicate and engage with all levels of the organization verbally and in writing. + Possesses intermediate computer skills including MS Office, Excel and Outlook. + Please note that due to the requirements from the Department of Energy, U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED. **Physical Requirements:** + Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. + Some bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, mild lifting of 10 pounds or less. + Some assemblers are required to intermittently lift up to 50 pounds. \#qioptiq Teledyne and all of our employees are committed to conducting business with the highest ethical standards.
