Primary Function
The Aircraft Mechanic performs a full range of airframe and engine maintenance, repairs, modifications, inspections and servicing of aircraft in accordance with approved methods, techniques and practices and certifies accomplished work.
Essential Duties
Inspect and maintain airframes, power plants, prop rotor, ECS, fuels and associated components.
Perform preflight, post flight, and phase inspections, inspecting and maintaining various systems, fuel, flight controls, prop rotor (to include weight and balance), utility, and power plants.
Perform Hub, blade fold rigs, etc.
Perform heavy maintenance to include engine, PRGB, Hub removal and replacement.
Perform acceptance inspections of critical flight control components after return from rework or upon receipt from manufacturer as well as aircraft acceptance and transfer inspections.
Perform Scheduled/Unscheduled Maintenance of CV-22 aircraft.
Perform complex system/sub-system troubleshooting.
Perform completion of O&I-level aircraft modifications/Time Compliance Technical Orders and One-Time Inspections.
On-the-job training and documentation of training of active duty maintenance technicians.
Perform Flight line driving/towing of aircraft/equipment.
Manage all aspects of aircraft maintenance to include scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, maintenance documentation, special inspections, time change items, DIFM assets, TCTO's, and associated items.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Prior experience with CV-22 Integrated Maintenance Concept (IMC) operations. Held the following qualifications on CV-22 or V-22 aircraft: Red X's/ IPI's, APU and Blade Fold Wing Stow, Aircraft Tow Supervisor, and Refuel/Defuel. Experience with Tugs, Forklifts and Cranes.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of seven (7) years continuous aircraft maintenance background/experience in an Aircraft Mechanical specialty on any fixed-wing or rotary aircraft with at least three (3) years' experience on CV-22 or V-22 aircraft or at least one year of documented recent (within the past three years) experience on the CV-22 or V-22 aircraft. Extensive working knowledge using technical publications, bulletins, diagrams, ground support equipment and precision tools in accordance with the Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM).
This position requires a government security clearance.

Purpose and Scope:

Essential Responsibilities:
1) Troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, ground support equipment, and ventilation and heating systems. This mechanic repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills.
2) Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds equipment and engine components, fuel systems (including cells, tanks, fuel/metering control systems), and functional components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills.
3) Reads and interprets maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
4) Diagnoses malfunctions, isolate causes, and correct breaks.
5) Performs 100-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other hourly or calendar inspections, examines engines for oil leaks, and listens to operating engine to detect and diagnose malfunctions, inspects jet engines and components for cracks, corrosion, foreign object damage, burned areas, distortions, security, warping, wear, and missing segments.
6) Replaces and repairs damaged components, uses hand tools, gauges, and tests equipment.
7) Inspects jet engine turbine blades to detect cracks, distortion, corrosion, burn-out, security, or breaks, tests engine operation, using testing equipment, such as ignition analyzer, compression checker, distributor timer, ammeter, and jet calibration (Jetcal) tester, to locate source of malfunction.
8) Replaces or repairs worn or damaged components, alternators, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment; removing engine from aircraft, using hoist or forklift truck, disassembling, and inspecting parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects, and repairing or replacing defective engine parts and reassembles and installs engine in aircraft.
9) Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories, performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes.
10) Adjusts, repairs, or replaces instruments, electrical/electronics, fuel/oil systems and accessories.
11) Supervises the jacking and towing of aircraft, enters in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verifies the work was performed satisfactorily, may service engines and airframe components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul, required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition, may specialize in work, repair and modification of structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies, and may specialize in engine repair.
13) Adheres to all Customer and/or Company policies and procedures.

Be prepared at all times for calls from operators for troubleshooting issues, either at the shop or at wellsite
Perform proper diagnosis based on troubleshooting on mechanical equipment
Conduct routine maintenance or repair work including engine and transmission overhaul or unit engine swings, involving cleaning and lubricating parts
Repair and maintain machinery and rotating equipment, such as motors, engines, mud pumps, drum brakes, draw works, swivels, laydown machines, high pressure fluid ends and power ends (frac pumps)
Solid experience in disassembly and reassembly of non-working equipment to like-new working conditions, followed by extensive safety and operational condition checks before distributed to the field
Ability to work as a team when working around the shop and field crews and assist other maintenance employees

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Five (5) years or more solid and proven work experience on oil field equipment or similar field with diesel engines and hydraulics
Valid state-issued driver license; Class A or B license is preferred - a plus

Must have heavy experience in maintenance and repair on very complex hydraulic systems and know the difference between open loop and closed loop hydraulic equipment systems

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Reports to the Public Infrastructure Department Head or their designee and are required to perform numerous and varied routine duties involving overall care, maintenance, safe and effective operation of one or more vehicles, or pieces of equipment, maintain logbooks, and report all malfunctions. Must be able to perform physical labor for sustained periods of time with exposure to the elements.
