Wieland is hiring a Assembler/Equipment Operator. The Assembler/Equipment Operator will be responsible for ensuring that components are machined and finished as specified by the detailed drawings and procedures of the company, while meeting the defined quality standards. We are seeking a flexible individual who can manage varying job duties from day to day.
This role is located in Delaware, OH and will be fully on-site.
Starting Pay: $21.00 per hour plus $0.75 shift differential
Schedule: 2nd shift Monday - Thursday (4:00pm - 2:30am)
Training will be on 1st Shift (2-4 weeks)
Monday - Thursday
6:00am-4:30pm
Pay Schedule: Biweekly
Responsibilities
Assembler/Equipment Operator Responsibilities:
Follow production orders, company procedures and directions from supervisor, prepare parts and assemble components into assemblies.
Successfully perform assembly operations by means of power tools or specialized equipment to produce pressure vessels and heat exchangers.
Prepare parts for assembly by means of grinding, blasting, cutting of metals, etc.
Execute assembly in accordance to company`s procedures and documents, while meeting defined quality and safety standards.
Maintain equipment in proper functioning status by applying preventative maintenance as per instructions.
Propose new methods, procedures, or equipment to improve efficiency and/or quality.
Assembler/Equipment Operator Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Required.
Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time.
Ability to regularly lift and move items up to 50 pounds.
Ability to use standard hand and power tools such as drills, grinders, etc.
Proactive in proposing solutions.
Good verbal communication skills.
Ability to understand fractions, decimals, and measurement techniques.

JOB SUMMARY:
The person in this role is responsible for blending, loading, and unloading chemical products while assuring compliance is achieved in all company associated policies. The position requires a motivated, detail oriented, and results driven team player who:
Incorporates safety and quality into every decision while performing day-to-day activities
Effectively communicates with Supervisor and peers
Can efficiently handle chemicals and operate equipment to safely manufacture quality products
Will actively seek out opportunities for process improvement and take full responsibility for collaborating with management and peers to implement approved changes in a timely manner.
The employee in this position will be a positive-natured, task-oriented individual with chemical manufacturing experience and significant mechanical aptitude. The Blender/Loader is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment and ability to follow procedures. The person must possess excellent communication skills necessary to keep supervisor and peers informed of production status. This person must be personally and professionally motivated to work constructively with team members at all levels within the company to execute job responsibilities.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBITIES:
Overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the blending process or processes assigned, including the safe transfer of hazardous chemicals.
Apply all plant safety rules, work guidelines / practices, and procedures
Wearing and maintenance of personal protective equipment required for working with hazardous chemicals
Developing and applying improvements in processes, equipment and procedures
Daily Responsibilities:
Complete walk-thru of the process and equipment to audit safety and maintain operational records
Assist with cleaning, and reloading of chemical reactors for production runs
Work with Production manager to coordinate manufacture of finished goods and ensure final products meet specifications within shipping schedule
Blend and mix chemicals per batch sheet instructions to meet customer requirements, fill sample retain bottles, and complete quality documentation
Load drums and/or totes with finished goods and properly label & seal containers
Assist in shipping by coordinating the loading of bulk tankers and LTL trailers while completing all necessary paperwork and recordkeeping.
Assist in receipt of raw materials to the site including offloading and completing all necessary paperwork and recordkeeping.
Maintenance
Maintain a 5S mentality (Sort, Straighten, Sustain, Shine, Systemize)
This is a USALCO philosophy to maintain a clean and orderly plant and includes inspecting your area and returning any and all tools, equipment, hoses, etc. to its proper place and maintain a clean work environment
Inspect plant equipment daily and report any issues to the supervisor
Assist in routine maintenance activities, including but not limited to: pipe and valve installation, pump replacement, etc.
Willing to work overtime, provide physical labor and occasional weekend work as required to meet business requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of business goals and objectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Requires planning skills to prioritize daily process operation
Must be able to pay attention to detail
Knowledge of chemical manufacturing and equipment
Must be dependable, flexible and able to respond on short notice to satisfy requirements of customers.
Requires good interpersonal and communication skills.
The ability to clearly communicate with others, both verbally and in written form
Strong Analytical and Mathematical aptitude
Typical office organizational skills, with basic computer literacy in Microsoft Office.
General industrial maintenance/operations experience including pipe assembly, pump installation and repair, and general mechanical equipment knowledge.
Forklift experience and certification preferred. If not, must be able to complete certification thru USALCO.
EDUCATION:
A High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
EXPERIENCE:
Chemical or manufacturing experience, preferred
Prior Forklift driving experience
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Ability to:
Must be able to wear a APR (SCBA respirator system), pass Spirometry test and comply to wear one, as required.
Routinely lift 35 to 50 lbs. throughout the shift
Routinely stand 80% of shift
Routinely climb bulk tanker ladders to load tankers
Work in awkward or confined spaces
Work both indoors and outdoors during all seasons
