As a project leader, you will be responsible for the planning and coordination of heavy civil construction projects to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished safely within the scheduled timeframes and established cost-optimized budget.
Conducts all work in accordance with Allan Myers policies, procedures, and programs.
Responsibilities:
Develops effective plans and schedules for constructing the project with the Superintendent and Project Team and determines the means and methods necessary to meet project goals.
Confirms that the plan will maximize production, guarantee quality, minimize costs, and promote safety to ensure the success of each project.
Ensures that all work performed, and products/materials used meet the Allan Myers standard of workmanship and comply with contractual standards and specifications.
Monitors, directs and coordinates activities of the project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.
Manages project cost and overall profitability of the project; maintains project profit and loss statements on a monthly basis.
Encourages and promotes positive teamwork, motivation/morale, employee development, and retention with direct reports and crews by being transparent in communication to create a culture of trust and respect.
Maintains excellent client satisfaction level through consistent communication and timely response to client concerns.
Implements and monitors the Allan Myers Safety Program, including the coordination of project activities to ensure compliance with all government regulatory guidelines and agencies. Directly responsible for subcontractor compliance to Allan Myers Safety Program.
Supervises Superintendents, Senior Project Engineers, Project Engineers, Field Engineers, and Project Administrators.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management, or related major or equivalent required.
Minimum of 5 years construction experience, with at least one year construction supervisory experience preferred. Heavy civil construction experience preferred.
FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) or PE (Professional Engineer) certification desirable.
OSHA 30 hour required.
Valid driver's license required.

The Role:
The Project Executive provides overall leadership and direction on the construction project. Typically, the Project Executive is responsible for negotiating the Owner contract, is the main contact for the Project Manager for issues concerning budget, billing and client satisfaction, and ensures the fiscal success of the project.
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership in business judgment and all financial and profitability aspects of projects under your jurisdiction Participate extensively in and the work acquisition process, working to define and develop project budgets and schedules that will achieve profitability objectives taking into account project-specific challenges
Set appropriate milestones and assign staff qualified to handle the scope and complexity of the project
Work closely with clients, owners, architects, and subcontractors to develop relationships that exceeds the client satisfaction to Suffolk's demanding standards
Provide oversight in managing all necessary resources throughout the entire project from start-up through closeout and ensure that the Owner's expectations regarding budget, schedule, and quality, as well as Suffolk's profitability objectives are met or exceeded
It is expected that the Project Executive is the “common thread” that owns the project from Pre-Construction through Closeout and beyond. This involves:
Oversight of projects at a high level from beginning to end including budget, costs, unexpected events, general performance, and overall progress against plan
Ensure that the day-to-day operations of projects are transitioned effectively to Project Managers and Superintendents from Preconstruction when work commences in the field
Mentor, train, and coach staff to perform to or exceed Suffolk standards

Project Acquisition:
Participate to understand unique owner needs, to represent Suffolk capabilities and help close potential client

Participate in and contribute to the RFP response process including editing for project specific content, and interview preparation and participation as requested

Project Start Up/Turnover/Pre-Construction:
Assign appropriate Project Staff (Includes Project Management and Field Ops Staff)
Review and approve the pre-mobilization activities
Ensure Turnover meeting occurs between Preconstruction and Operation teams
Be the pre-construction lead as requested, working closely with the pre-construction, and estimating teams to develop project specific budgets, schedules, and logistics plans
Project Operations:
Responsible for ensuring that Projects achieve budget, schedule, quality, and profitability objectives
Maintain a thorough understanding of the Suffolk/Owner Contract. Ensure project team understanding of same and that project achieves compliance with
Visit sites regularly to monitor project performance, schedule, and expenditures with project staff, highlight potential challenges and provide leadership in responding creatively to bring projects in on schedule and under budget, where feasible., and to the standard of quality expected
People:
Monitor and evaluate Project Manager and Superintendent staff assignments
Responsible for development of entire team
Assist in sourcing and screening of candidates as requested; mentor, coach, and train them to perform and ensure effective matching of talent to project scope
Financial Performance:

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10-15 years of construction management experience for a large-scale general contractor or CM at Risk firm
Self-perform experience a plus
In-depth knowledge of intricate commercial construction practices required
Experience leading multiple successful project teams including development of direct reports and maintaining relationships with external entities

The Structures Division of the H&K Group, Inc., is looking for an experienced Project Manager to support public and private projects. The Project Manager plans, directs, and coordinates project activities to ensure goals of project are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs all work according to OSHA and H&K Safety policies
Maintain up-to-date project progress information and cost of labor and material data for project control and analysis
Create and update at least monthly the overall schedule. Review schedules with the superintendent for each project including the required timetables for work performed by subcontractors
Work as a team with assigned foreman and superintendent to build project in a controlled manner. Manage and coordinate with subcontractor
Coordinate with purchasing the requisition of materials and furnish information for proper coding of invoices
Provide modifications resulting in change orders
Shares with the Estimator in the processing of plan revisions for change orders and distribute as required
Process Additional Work Authorizations (AWA's) for change order submission
Coordinate and process change orders or technical problems with client requirements, suppliers, superintendents, and subcontractors
Review project cost reports each day
Visit project sites for troubleshooting and for the purposes of ensuring project quality. Site visits to be at least once a week
Oversee project security and safety
Prepare project AIA Billing requisitions with project secretary
Review all purchase orders, delivery tickets, subcontractor requisitions, and invoices to see that they are coded correctly for project costing
Maintain all project files: submittals, shop drawings, maintenance manuals, as-built drawings, punch lists
Occasionally meet with all subcontractors/suppliers for project coordination
Maintain a log for all submittals and shop drawings
Assist with new project transitions and pre-job planning
Chair all project meetings
Meet or exceed project objectives as determined in the pre-job planning process
Provide accurate percent complete status on projects to accounting each month
Conduct a thorough analysis of job costs vs. budget each month
Report to top management each month on gross margin improvement strategies and accomplishments
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills, Education, and Experience
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or relevant field from an accredited four-year college or university
A combination of education and experience may be considered
Five years of experience in Heavy Civil Constriction relevant to this region
Driver's license and clean driving record
Effective verbal and written communication
Proficient computer skills including internet and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and specialized project software
Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience
Ten years of experience in Heavy Civil Constriction relevant to this region
Certified PE
OSHA and/or other applicable safety certifications and training
