Machine operator will be working in our Columbus Ice Cream packaging equipment plant. This facility employs 30+ union team members. This plant is 125k sq.ft, operates with four work centers and possess a strong team oriented culture. Attached to the plant is a Weston Foods corporate office that supports Supply Chain and Transportation. Join our Interbake Foods facility in Columbus, OH. The Columbus site provides novelty-manufacturing systems to dairy processors in North America. Our systems include filling machinery, ice cream cones, ice cream sandwich wafers, push-up tubes, cups and containers. A Machine Operator is expected to know how his/her equipment operates and be able to identify and repair simple mechanical problems like stalls or jams. Individuals hired into this role will be trained to operate various machines within the facility. Manufacturing experience is strongly preferred, but not required. Job Description The Sanding and Robot Operator - 3rd Shift position sets up, operates and maintains multiple robotic sanding cells as trained and instructed to meet or exceed defined production targets. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned) Operates multiple robotic sanding cells with the loading and unloading of helmets to maximize robot time sanding while also ensuring quality. Identify helmet models to be sanded and correctly set the machine fixturing to ensure quality sanding. Load and unload helmets from the fixturing proplerly. Organize and maintain the machine fixturing so that they can be easily found as needed. Operate the computer controls of each cell to select the proper program for the paint color being sanded. Load the robot sanding tool as needed with the proper sand paper grit per the program running. Change the interface pads and backup pads on each cell running as needed to maintain quality sanding. Identify and communicate issues quickly to the GrayMatter Team using the Hot Line and the Team Viewer communication tool. Communicate issues immediately to Team Leader and Supervisor. Observes all safety rules and regulations. Exercises care and good judgment at all times to prevent accidents and injuries. Adheres to all company policies, procedures, rules, and BRG Code of Conduct. Practices good housekeeping by keeping work cells clean and organized. Performs other duties and tasks as assigned. POSITION SUMMARY: The Machine Operator will operate multiple machines while maintaining a safe work environment and meeting all production and quality standards. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Examples of key duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. Proven track record of operating multiple machines simultaneously. Ability to run up to, but not limited to, three machines at one time and maintain a constant pace of filling product between machines. Clean all machines as required by department procedures. Perform all necessary quality checks. Complete all necessary paperwork and all required documentation. Assist other positions within the department as needed. Follow all safety, machine rules, and procedures. Sort out all defective products before packing. Assure the correct product code/labels are on the box. Correctly pack the product into the proper packaging per the Dispo. Tape boxes neatly and securely. Place boxes on the proper skid with the correct amount of cases per layer and per skid. Wrap all completed skids. Maintain required levels of raw materials at all times for up to eight machines. Set up all the supplies need to begin production. Remove all trash, corrugated, and recycle from the designated section.recycle, and bulk materials. Keep area safe and clean by assisting with sweeping of the designated section. Communicate to Lead of any quality or sealer problems Complete all special projects and/or assignments as directed by the lead or supervisor Other duties as assigned EXPERIENCE At least six months of operator experience is preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail. Adequate English skills as well as basic math skills are required. EDUCATION High School Graduate or GED equivalency is preferred SKILLS Ability to work in a fast-paced environment needed with attention to detail. Technicians conduct the day-to-day assignments and tasks of the cannabis production cycle, including packaging, and labeling of cannabis for our customer. Lab: Learns the extraction processes to facilitate and drive distillate and concentrate production. The technician will perform a broad range of duties related to day-to-day operations and production of oil. That includes preparation and extraction of plant material, the preparation of solutions, supplies, materials, and equipment, cleaning & maintenance of equipment and facilities proper and safe use of equipment and materials. Kitchen: Responsible for having the basic knowledge of all daily operations in an edible and cannabis infused kitchen. Assisting in the preparing food items and other culinary activities as directed by the kitchen manager. Performing routine cleaning and maintenance of all kitchen equipment and operating all equipment safely in its intended manner. Duties and Responsibilities Packaging: Operating and maintaining kitchen and packaging systems/equipment: monitoring, calibrating, running, and troubleshooting systems; stocking and handling production inputs and supplies; sanitizing and cleaning production areas, kitchen workspaces and tools. Ensure daily QA/QC compliance with policies and procedures including but not limited to, state compliance, security protocols, and access protocols. Frequently works in rooms with moderate heat and humidity. The person in this position is constantly exposed to moderate background noise due to environmental systems, equipment and fans. Physical requirements Prolonged sitting, standing and / or walking motion/movement will be required throughout the shift. Constant movement of hands/fingers and limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina. Frequently ascends/descends a ladder to inspect/maintain plants. Occasionally operate power hand tools and other cultivation machinery. Must be able to inspect and detect quality deviations and defects. Occasional lifting, positioning or moving items up to 50 pounds.
