What you need to know
This position has the flexibility of a hybrid remote option with two days at the TTI Headquarters at RELLIS campus in Bryan, TX. This can be discussed further during the interview process.
The starting salary for this position is $36K. Final salary will be determined based on the applicant's qualifications and experience.
Job Summary
Responsible for field data collection and outdoor surveys of motor vehicle occupant behavior. This is an entry level position that initially involves full-time data collection, with opportunities to grow in other areas in a research program focused on driver/passenger behavior. Continued employment in this position is contingent upon availability of funding and satisfactory performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in the coordination and implementation of data collection in support of research projects including extensive travel. Observes and records vehicle occupant behavior. 70%
Selects and applies standard techniques of routine research and keeps detailed records of data. 10%
Performs data analysis, statistical analysis, and technical evaluation of research results. 5%
Evaluates and summarizes results. 5%
Assists in preparing and writing proposals to funding agencies; maintains financial accounts related to research projects. 3%
Assists undergraduate and/or graduate students and other technical or field staff involved in research. 3%
Assists with reports, invoices, and cataloging records. 3%

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in a social science or education field (examples: health, liberal arts, education, history, sociology, psychology), or equivalent combination of education and experience (HS diploma/ + 4 YOE)

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Center on Extremism (COE) Research Assistant will conduct basic research into antisemitism, anti-Zionism, extremism and hate, to populate COE databases and share with other COE staff. The Research Assistant will support the work of COE staff on issues pertaining to antisemitism and anti-Zionism.
Responsibilities
Primary:
* Monitor, research, and evaluate large volumes of information from multiple sources pertaining to antisemitism, anti-Zionism and hate.
* Populate COE databases with essential content, categories, and records.
* Summarize relevant data and share with COE staff and management.
* Help maintain quality and integrity of COE database content.
* Draft language for use in ADL publications and social media.
* Provide additional research support as requested.

Qualifications
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment.
Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position.

Responsibilities
Research: Intensively participates in data analysis and preliminary data collection through accurately following experimental protocols (e.g., cell culture, PCR, ELISA, Western blot, immunohistochemistry, mice behavioral study). Compiles data files set from research teams. Collects, interprets, and analyzes data, compiles results, prepares reports, and presents their conclusions. Maintains mouse colony in the vivarium, performs surgery on the xenograft mice, conducts behavioral test on mice, generates preliminary data for the lung cancer project and Alzheimer's disease projects. Participates in poster and podium presentation of the collected results.
Administrative: Under the supervision of PI, organizes the professional collaboration between the pharmacy/graduate students and the lab team member. Helps train new lab members or undergraduate students and graduate students on techniques and safety protocols. Ships laboratory agents for analysis. Works collaboratively with undergraduate students, graduate students, postdocs, and PIs. Attends and contributes to lab meetings and discussions.

Position Information
We are seeking a Research Assistant in the AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Overton responsible for managing the beef productive physiology laboratory and performs quantitative analysis of blood sera for hormones using radioimmunoassay procedures.
Responsibilities:
Duties will include but are not limited to:
Coordinate and conduct endocrine assays, tissue culture, extraction of DNA and RNA, and protein gel electrophoresis,
Maintenance of inventory and purchasing of supplies and equipment,
Prepare chemical solutions,
Train and supervise graduate and undergraduate students in safe laboratory procedures,
Assist in blood and tissue collection, animal surgery, and experiment-related animal husbandry procedures.
Responsible for working with a variety of scientists, including principal investigators, graduate students, and technical support staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
B.S. in relevant field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Must be able to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and use computer applications (including Microsoft Office).
Understanding and experience with livestock handling estrous synchronization protocols or willingness to be trained is required.
Experience and training in the use of radioisotopes or willingness to be trained is required.
Experience in molecular biology and/or cell culture is desirable as is experience performing RIAs.
Must possess effective interpersonal relations skills
Ability to establish effective working relationships.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Science degree.
One year of related experience.
Experience in molecular biology techniques such as RNA/DNA isolation, small RNA sequencing, and real-time RT-PCR is desired.
