SUMMARY: An Extrusion UtilityOperator is responsible for safely and effectively contributing to team a of 4-5 individuals supporting the operation of extrusion lamination manufacturing equipment. Maintaining a strong work ethic while demonstrating good communication skills are important to exceeding customer expectations, productivity standards, and personal career growth. Extrusion UtilityOperators are expected to be able to independently prioritize their time and duties to contribute to the team running efficiently.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Performs duties in a manner that adheres to safety policies and procedures.
Participate in the training curriculum, learning new aspects of extrusion line operations while completing assigned duties required for operation.
Maintain quality standards by reviewing product specifications and ensuring thorough completion of assigned production paperwork.
Operate as a member of a larger team responsible for aspect of overall process. Team members will rely on attention to detail and proper communication to ensure entirety of process is safe and efficient.
Exercise cautious approach to heavy equipment including use over overhead hoists.
Completes tasks to ensure area around the machine is clean to GMP & Food Safety standards
Visual acuity for identifying minor imperfections and material defects.
Basic understanding of general tool usage including tape measurers, utility knives and screw drivers.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written with working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Position Overview
The Plant Operator (Treater) is an entry-level role responsible for performing operational work related to daily work instructions, inspection, grading, treatment and materials. This Manufacturing team member operates the treating plant and water treatment system safely and proficiently.
This is an onsite role at our Cameron plant. Note we have both
day
and
night shift
opportunities available for this role.
Key Duties include:
Operate and control systems by prescribed operating procedures, including, but not limited to the following major systems: Boiler and pressure vessels, vacuum and condensate recovery systems, preservative mix, transfer and storage systems, hazardous and solid waste processing and storage, charge transfer tables and emergency response equipment.
Perform all duties of inspector, machine operator and laborer positions as required.
Operates all aspects of creosote treating at or above target production levels.
Operates all aspects of the borate treating at or above target production levels.
Operates all aspects of the water treatment system safely and proficiently.
Operates all creosote unloading operations.
Participates and contributes to company safety program.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

One year or manufacturing, utilities, or treating-related experience a plus
Experience working with chemicals a plus
Pesticide Applicator's License or Boiler Operating License a plus
Ability to pass the state pesticide certification exam

ESSENTIAL DUTIES -
May include, but not limited to the following:
Performs supplemental support shift work in rotation with other personnel as needed for plant operation (i.e., 2:00pm to 10:00pm shift).
Operates chill water plant on rotating shift.
Inspects and examines heating/refrigeration and air-conditioning, chillers, boilers, air compressors, heat exchangers, and all auxiliary equipment to locate defects in operations.
Adds chemicals to boilers, cooling towers, chiller, etc.
Monitors and updates the Energy Management Controls System.
Performs preventive maintenance, installs, inspects, troubleshoots, adjusts, repairs and replaces rotating equipment (pumps, motors, etc., and associated units, parts, systems, etc.
Services cold storage units, refrigerated air conditioning units, water coolers, and controls.
Disassembles units and restores to operating condition; repairs or replaces condensers, compressors, pumps, valves, motors, bearings, belts and other parts.
Recovers and recharges refrigerants as required; performs preventive maintenance on cooling towers and evaporative condensers.
Inspects and tests refrigeration systems, safety devices, and controls for efficiency of operation and compliance with safety practices, laws and regulations.
Troubleshoots and take necessary corrective action for major malfunctions and breakdowns of heating/refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, pumps, air heating/refrigeration and air conditioning units, coils, fans, subsystems and component parts, steam systems, etc.
Documents any corrective action taken or changes made by altering electrical schematics.
Observes prescribed work and safety rules.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Orders parts and supplies as needed.
May assist with and/or direct work of others on assigned projects.
Prepares and submits reports.
Performs other duties as requested.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent required. Trade school preferred. State certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE

c. Complete Machine Operator Front and Machine Operator Back training
d. Operate pallet jack
e. Achieve walk behind electric stacker certification, operate, and perform and record inspections
f. Achieve lockout/tagout certification

Qualifications:

Qualifications
Qualifications:
High School Diploma required. 1-3 years of experience supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing of oral solid dosage products in a GMP environment.
In depth, hands-on experience with the following equipment desired: Bosch 1500, Bosh GKF 400, and Semi-Encapsulator CFSA02, tablet compression machines Stokes Model 515 DS3, Auger Filler and controls systems associated with these equipment trains.
This person must be able to maintain equipment following appropriate SOP's in place; capacity to record and maintain good records of in-process checks; familiar with machine operations procedures and troubleshooting of assigned equipment.
