Margaret's Place, a program in partnership with Joe Torre Safe At Home, supports young people affected by interpersonal relationship abuse and trauma by providing a safe place in schools where students meet with a professional counselor or social worker trained in violence intervention and prevention. Our services include individual and group counselling, healthy relationship education, classroom-based curricula, peer leadership development, and training for school staff and parents. Deliver excellent customer service and support a positive, team-oriented workplace. What You'll Need 18 years of age or older at time of hire. Valid Driver's License in good standing. Must have and maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification or obtain upon hire. Must have and maintain Illinois Mandated Reporter certification or obtain upon hire. Previous camp counselor experience preferred. Experience with outdoor recreational activities including hiking, archery, fishing, and paddling preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Comfortable interacting with youth of varying age ranges. Schedule & Pay Schedule during camp is generally Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm; however, some occasional evenings and weekends may be needed. Hours vary after camp season ends. Expected start date is late May 2026 $17.50 per hour Safety boot reimbursement provided Work Setting Position is based out of two locations: either Blackwell Forest Preserve in West Chicago, IL or Churchill Woods Forest Preserve in Lombard, IL Requires working outdoors and indoors in office and shop environments. Exposure to all weather conditions, campfires, insects and other wildlife. Work surfaces may include downed branches or uneven terrain. Use of motor vehicles.
