    What you do Be responsible for the design, configuration, and operation of complete building control systems including fire, security, and other low voltage control sub-systems (i.e., lighting, nurse call, data networks, etc.) to meet the intent of the project requirements. Accountable to field teams for quality, timeliness and efficiency of designs. Develops complex software programs, commissioning and solving to ensure proper operations of the building control system. Provides detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, Johnson Controls field installation team and subcontractors. How will you do it Designs and configures are technically complex building control systems as defined by the contract documents. Creates flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts and electrical schematics as required. Develop and tests software programs necessary to operate the system per the project requirements' intent. Coordinates and creates necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation. Selects, orders, and tracks the delivery of materials for assigned projects. Coordinates factory-mounting processes to meet factory and project schedule. Assists in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required. Assists in validation of complete system functionality and solves problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation. Provides field change information to the project team for the creation of as-built drawings and software. Keeps management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues. Assists in performing site-specific training for owner/operator on the total building control system. Participates in the release meeting with project field team. Performs value engineering to provide cost effective results while maintaining customer satisfaction. May provide work directions to Systems Design Assistants. Adheres to safety standards with a high degree of employee and subcontractor safety. Travel is required for this role. Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience. Demonstrated advanced computer skills required, particularly computer-related drafting tools. Ability to travel regularly. HIRING SALARY RANGE: $76,000 - 95,000 USD Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. This Staff Systems Engineer position will perform most typical Agile Product Owner responsibilities for the GMD Weapon System (GWS) GMD Fire Control (GFC) Threat State Algorithms and Analysis team, ensuring that features and related sprint stories contain the appropriate closure criteria and meet those criteria prior to be closed. To fulfill this role, the candidate will lead and perform technical tasks to support the development and evaluation of algorithm candidates addressing new capabilities. This analysis will help ensure algorithmic design has been properly evaluated prior to implementation. Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 8+ years of related experience (6+ years with a Master's degree; 4+ years with a PhD). Experience Requirements: Recent experience in one or more of the following areas: data analysis, performance analysis, or physics/mathematics-based algorithm development General understanding of any, or all, of the following algorithm domains: track processing, track reporting, discrimination, propagation, and 6d covariance propagation/ prediction High proficiency in technical problem solving and integrating solutions into a larger system Knowledge of MATLAB, Python or similar engineering tools used in prototyping algorithms Experience reading and understanding the Ada programming language Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical personnel Excellent interpersonal skills Extensive background in Ballistic Missile Defense, midcourse missile defense, battle management, threat state processing, weapon target assignment Ability to acquire and maintain a TS level clearance Special Skills Desired: Recent experience applying advanced mathematical concepts (Numerical Analysis, Linear Algebra, Probability/Statistics) to complex problems and solutions Recent and extensive experience developing analysis tools in MATLAB and PYTHON High comfort level with the Ada programming language Successful performance of root cause analysis of large complex software systems High Comfort level using the Atlassian toolset (Jira/Confluence) Applicant selected must have an active Secret security clearance.
