This internship is ideal for students pursuing degrees in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering who are curious about the energy industry and eager to learn. What You'll Do Assist in designing physical substation components such as yard layouts, grounding, and control building arrangements. Support the development of protection and control schematics and wiring diagrams. Help prepare design drawings, calculations, and bills of material. Learn and apply engineering standards including NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI. Participate in quality reviews and collaborate with engineers to refine designs. Maintain project documentation and assist with engineering calculations. Attend team meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions. What You'll Bring Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. This hands-on program provides real-world experience across various engineering disciplines, including Estimating, Service, Preconstruction, Construction, and Design. Graduates/ Interns will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers, project managers, and estimators, gaining valuable skills and insights in the field of mechanical engineering. RESPONSIBLITIES/DUTIES BY DEPARTMENT: These responsibilities generally describe the nature of each position and may not be all inclusive: Service Assist with entering and organizing incoming service requests while learning how calls are reviewed, documented, and prioritized within the service department. Support dispatch and scheduling activities by helping track technician availability, job status updates, and parts-related follow-ups to ensure smooth workflow. Shadow service coordinators and leadership to observe customer communication, dispatch decision-making, and overall service operations. Construction Join project managers on job site meetings and walkthroughs. Support project management on various projects by preparing O&M manuals, performing Revit modeling, and conducting load calculations. Provide additional support during vacation staffing to maintain project continuity. Preconstruction Manage and solicit Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for project planning.
