    **Job Number: 339** **Salary: $23.73 - $35.61** **Department: Sheriff's Office** **Division: Court Services Team 4** **Job Type: Hourly Full-Time** **GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:** Under the general supervision of a Court Services Sergeant, this position works within the Court Services Control Center (LINK Control) where the technician monitors and controls movement in areas immediately in and around the Arapahoe County Justice Center Complex, Courthouses and the Arapahoe County Detention Facility by use of active and recorded video surveillance camera systems and radio communications. The position manages all Court Services normal and emergency radio traffic, Computer Assisted Dispatch (CAD) functions and assists in manpower allocation and management utilizing computer and radio systems. Staff uses NCIC/CCIC databases to confirm warrants, DMV vehicle and driver licensee/Identification clearances, and teletype communications with other agencies. **EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:** The following duty statements are illustrative of the essential functions of the job and does not include other routine duties and daily tasks that may be required: + Observes security monitors to allow movement throughout the Courthouse, monitors elevator movement and the security/fire systems in the Courthouse. + Monitors and controls radio traffic within the Courthouse; shuts down non-emergency traffic during a crisis situation. + Documents significant and unusual events that happen either written or using available databases. + Calls for assistance and may coordinate responses in emergency situations. + Acts as a liaison between Court Services and the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office Communications Center in the coordination of emergency response for law enforcement calls for service, Fire Department service requests and EMS response. + Operates computers and standard office equipment, including commonly used computer software programs. + Utilizes NCIC/CCIC databases to confirm warrants, DMV vehicle and driver licensee clearances and teletype communications with other agencies. + Maintains regular and acceptable attendance at such level as determined at the Sheriff's Office discretion. + Is available and willing to work such overtime per day or per week as the Sheriff's Office determines is necessary or desirable to meet its needs. + Is available and willing to work such weekends and holidays as the Sheriff's Office determines are necessary to meet operational needs. + Performs duties onsite, except those job duties that are customarily or by nature performed offsite. + Follows and supports the mission, values, organizational philosophies, operational principals, code of conduct and policies and procedures of the Sheriff's Office. + May be assigned other duties as necessary. **REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:** + Ability to comprehend and apply the safety, security protocols and procedures of the Arapahoe County Justice Center complexes and Detention Facility. + Basic understanding of officer safety. + Ability to operate computers and commonly used the computer software programs, as well as any other standard office equipment as required by position. + Ability to multi-task and stay calm during busy times or in crisis situations. + Ability to apply sound reasoning and decision-making. + Ability to verbally communicate with deputies, other law enforcement professionals, Courthouse patrons, staff and inmates in an effective manner. + Attention to detail when assisting the management of inmate movement within the facilities. + Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written English language. + Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, other staff members and the general public. + Ability to cope in a safe manner with stressful situations, emotional or irate responders, and unprofessional contacts. + Ability to stay calm during highly stressful situations while handling numerous tasks simultaneously. + Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:** EDUCATION: High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent. The work level can fluctuate from minimal to fast-paced and high volume. The employee deals with crisis situations that require them to be involved in making rapid major decisions involving people, resources and property with limited direction. May be asked to work scheduled shifts at any time of the operational schedule for the Court Services section. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ensuring entry, walkways, common areas of interior and exterior are clean, presentable and free of debris and hazards. Dust furniture, walls, shelves and trim as needed. Wash windows, floors and doors as needed. Proactively set-up and break-down rooms for programs, events, and presentations including set-up of a/v equipment, sound system, podium, and other equipment and opening or closing wall dividers as needed. Snow and leaf removal on grounds, including sidewalks, patio, bocce courts and outdoor fitness area, excluding the parking lot. Assist with moving materials, boxes, shelving, equipment, and furniture as needed Carry items to and from the entrance and parking lot and throughout the building for members, staff, presenters and volunteers. Clean, sanitize and stock restrooms upon arrival and as needed throughout the day. Mop, sweep and vacuum floors throughout the day and immediately following programs as needed, cleaning up spills immediately. Wipe down furniture, common areas, computer stations, shared commonly touched surfaces and counters. Assemble/install and disassemble/uninstall basic furniture, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment. Empty trash and recycling and take to dumpsters. Ensure the flag is lit and in good condition. Maintain outdoor furniture and gas equipment (i.e., BBQ). Perform minor maintenance tasks, including replacing lightbulbs, hanging signs and decorations, and preparing for events. Deliver items to/from storage areas. Conduct routine maintenance of minor items (i.e., timers, replacement of batteries, adjusting thermostats). Regularly inspect the interior and exterior of building for maintenance issues. Monitor inventory and order janitorial and maintenance supplies. Generate work orders and input asset data in Asset Essentials. Coordinate with vendors and other district staff for facility repairs and maintenance. Attend Safety Committee meetings. Lock and unlock the building; when closing the building, ensure it is empty and secure. Assess, respond to, and treat various pest issues. Report on building, equipment, and customer concerns to the supervisor. Conduct checks on AEDs and kitchen equipment as required by health and safety regulations. Assist during emergency situations. Perform other duties as assigned. Desired Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED. One or more years of varied experience in janitorial, custodial, and maintenance work. Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Considerable knowledge of cleaning methods, cleaning materials, use and maintenance of tools and equipment used in custodial work. Perform moderately heavy manual labor; able to lift and carry heavy items, climb ladders, shovel, bend, kneel, crouch, grasp, and reach. Knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, pest management, and HVAC systems. Experience in the operation and maintenance of power and manual tools and equipment such as a snow blower, string trimmer, ice melt spreader, and vacuum cleaner. Understand and carry out verbal and written directions. Ability to read, understand, and comply with written instructions for the use of equipment and supplies. Thorough and dependable. Accomplish assigned tasks independently in the absence of supervision. Adhere to schedules for the periodic cleaning of assigned areas. Manage time, multitask, and use critical thinking skills to complete assignments. Must be able to effectively interact with the public and guide others as needed. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Special Requirements Valid driver's license and have an acceptable motor vehicle record. CPR/AED/First Aid and Crowd Control certification required within three months of hire. May need to work early mornings or evenings and occasional weekends. Supervision Received Works under the general supervision of the Senior Services Manager. Indirect supervision may be provided by the Construction and Facilities Maintenance Manager or the Facilities Supervisor. Supervision Exercised No supervision exercised. This level requires knowledge and competent demonstration of the following within 6 (six) months of hire: Knowledge of park and trail system locations; fundamental and basic knowledge of and ability to perform park maintenance; effective communication. This level requires the following certifications to be obtained within twelve (12) months of hire: Flagger Certification, CPR/First Aid/AED Certification. Technician II: This is a mid-level position within the Parks Division's technician series. This position is distinguished from Technician I by the performance of the full range of tasks and duties assigned. The Technician II receives only occasional instruction or assistance and is fully aware of the operating procedures and policies associated with the Division. Movement to/or placement in a Technician II role presumes all requirements of a Technician I (or the equivalent) have been met. This level requires one (1) year of experience as a Parks Technician I or two (2) years of equivalent experience outside the Town of Parker in parks maintenance operations. This level requires knowledge and competent demonstration of the following within six (6) months of hire: Moderate knowledge of and the ability to perform parks maintenance; ability to perform most daily tasks independently. This level requires the following certifications to be initiated within six (6) months of hire and obtained within one (1) year of hire: Class B CDL with tanker endorsement and air brakes. This level requires the following certification to be initiated within twelve (12) months of hire and obtained within eighteen (18) months of hire: Certified Operator Colorado Pesticide Applicators License in Turf and Right of Way. Technician III: This is an upper-level position within the Parks Division's technician series. This position is distinguished from the Technician II by years of experience, additional licenses and certifications, performance of the full range of tasks and duties assigned. The Technician III receives limited instruction or assistance and is fully aware of the operating procedures and policies associated with the Division. Movement to/or placement in a Technician III role presumes all requirements of a Technician II (or the equivalent) have been met. This level requires two (2) years of experience as a Parks Technician II for the Town of Parker, or four (4) years of equivalent experience outside the Town of Parker in parks maintenance operations supplemented by two (2) years of snow removal experience. This level requires knowledge and competent demonstration of the following within 6 (six) months of hire: Advanced knowledge of and the ability to perform parks maintenance; competency within three of the following areas: irrigation, mowing, turf, athletics, horticulture, or general maintenance. This level requires the following certifications to be initiated within twelve (12) months of hire and obtained within eighteen (18) months of hire: Colorado Department of Agriculture Qualified Supervisor Pesticide Applicator's License in Turf and Right of Way, NIMS 100.
