The Tooling Engineer works closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to troubleshoot tooling issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives. What You Will Do: You will own the development and implementation of systems that ensure Helion's manufactured products and processes are reliable, efficient, and consistently meet requirements throughout their lifecycle. In this role, you will solve complex, multidisciplinary engineering problems critical to deploying fusion energy at scale. You will collaborate closely with engineers and technicians while contributing to the culture and growth of a fast-moving team. You will report to the Senior Manager of Production, and this is an onsite role located at our Everett, WA office. You Will: Develop receiving inspection and machine shop inspection processes that ensure reliable performance of both outsourced and in-house manufactured hardware Implement lean test and inspection processes to ensure reliable manufacturing systems Utilize manufacturing and product data to lead containment and corrective actions on fusion hardware and integrated fusion generators Collaborate with design engineering teams to challenge and simplify hardware requirements Work hands-on with experienced technicians to build and implement reliable manufacturing processes Expand your engineering skills and domain knowledge by learning from experts Required Skills: Bachelor's degree in engineering 5+ years of professional experience delivering full-scope engineering projects, including schedule ownership Experience applying first-principles and method-based thinking to solve technical problems Hands-on exposure to multiple engineering disciplines including mechanical, electrical, and fluids #LI-Onsite Total Compensation and Benefits Helion's compensation package includes a competitively benchmarked base salary, meaningful equity grants, and comprehensive benefits.
