Cameron-Cole is searching for an Environmental Specialist/Technician (CG02) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have core competencies in health & safety, policies and procedures, attention to detail, and utilization. With direct supervision of senior staff, the Environmental Specialist performs environmental field sampling including collection of groundwater samples from monitor wells, collection of surface and subsurface soil samples, and assist with data analysis and development of presentations. Candidates with an academic background in geology or engineering are strongly preferred due to upcoming project needs. This role will be out of our Alameda, CA office. Full-time Description The Environmental Field Technician I will support field efforts at various client sites. Assignments will include, but not be limited to, air quality monitoring, waste and water sampling, and engineering field efforts. This field-based position requires frequent travel, equipment operation, and data collection in outdoor environments. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities): Three years' experience in an industrial setting OR a two-year technical degree, preferred. Maintain and calibrate air monitoring equipment, including stationary Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and mobile ambient air monitoring stations. Complete Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and participate in toolbox meetings. Follow all safety procedures and report potential hazards or unsafe practices to supervisors. Deliver excellent customer service to clients in the field. Assist with laboratory, shop, and equipment maintenance. Generate accurate and complete documentation of all field activities. Assist with Wetland Assimilation Monitoring: Leaf collection from litter traps; Measurement of diameter at breast height of trees within study plots; Assistance with soil, sediment, and vegetation sampling; Assistance with sediment accretion measurements; and Assistance with Rod-Surface Elevation Table installation. Assist with storm water sampling.
