TSC's is seeking a Temporary Assembler, II at our Huntsville, AL Discovery location to support our production division.
Responsibilities:
Performs basic and intricate electronic/electro-mechanical assembly functions on prototype and production type hardware according to company workmanship standards and military or client specifications. Assists in the development and wiring of engineering models and in the development of assembly methods and wire lists. Uses hand or power tools to trim, shim, cut, and make other adjustments to fit components together and align them properly. May assist in instructing and training lower level assemblers. Reads and interprets wiring lists and assembly drawings and Works to work orders using visual aids, ECN's, and schematics. May perform any rework from test failures in accordance with standard repair procedures and may set up and operate automatic prepping, loading, and insertion equipment. The employee may frequently be required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms.
Requirements:
High school diploma and 1-2 years of production and/or assembly experience
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

+ Build, troubleshoot, and repair cable assemblies.
+ Working knowledge and use of tools used for cable manufacturing (strippers, crimpers, solder iron).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent
0-2 years' experience
Able to comprehend and interpret oral and written work instructions, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, engineering instructions, and associated documentation pertaining to the electrical manufacturing process.
Able to demonstrate mechanical assembly ability of Electrical/Electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies.
Knowledge of specifications required to produce products in a defense/aerospace manufacturing environment desired
Knowledge of "build to print" operations a plus
Certified in Cable and Wire Harness assembly (IPC-WHMA-A-620) or equivalent desired.
Certified in J-STD-001 (Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies) or equivalent desired.
Successful completion of all required Electrical Assembler I training with the ability to obtain required certifications.
Must be able to read, write and communicate coherently in English.
General computer skills

Automation Assembly Technician
Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of new, custom-made automation equipment. This includes mechanical assembly of complex mechanisms, pneumatic assembly and routing, electrical wiring and setup of electrical components, and wiring of custom control cabinets. In addition, reading schematics and BOM's to correctly assemble and wire the automation project. Also possess the ability to recognize design deficiencies or malfunctions where immediate determinations or corrections are needed to enhance quality and/or safety.
Other Duties:
Layout, drilling, and cutting with hand power tools.
Travel and work in unfamiliar environments (25%).
Work independently, with minimal supervision.
Inspect equipment for quality and safety issues.
