While reporting to the Site Lead, you will be responsible for help keeping the new reel assembly line going in a quick and safe manner. In this role, you'll be responsible for assembling wooden reels used for wire, cable, and other industrial applications. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys working with tools and takes pride in building durable, high-quality products.
Responsibilities:
Assemble wood reels using hand and power tools according to specifications
Collaborating closely with other departments and teams
Having the ability to think on your feet and troubleshoot problems and situations
Making incremental process adjustments, monitor and report quality of manufactured product.
Maintaining a safe, clean and organized work area.
Performing all duties as designated by supervisor/manager.
Performing all duties in support of Sonoco's quality and safety policies.
Helping out other departments as needed
Requirements:
Previous experience in warehousing environment is extremely helpful.
You have to have a “get it done” attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks.
Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed.
You need to have working knowledge of our products and their quality requirements.
Being reliable, having good initiative, being committed, and being quality focused is a must.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
An Electro-Mechanical Assembler of high-speed pharmaceutical packaging equipment assembles and disassembles mechanical parts, pieces, and products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications.

Strong manual dexterity for use of tools and performing work on small components requiring fine finger manipulation and steadiness (Pliers, Crimpers, Wire Strippers, Scissors, etc).
Continually utilize visual acuity to operator equipment, read, and technical information.
Occasionally exposed to cold and/or hot and humid condition.
On occasion exposed to extreme heat from the machines.
Working in a loud manufacturing environment (Examples: manufacturing machines or large moving equipment).
Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
Ability to talk and hear.
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED
Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment helpful, but not required.
Must have own transportation, be a responsible individual who is reliable, dependable and comes to work on time ready to contribute and work well with others.
