The Assembler is responsible for the electro-mechanical assembly, testing, and quality of subassemblies and systems according to Manufacturing plans. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Operate production equipment; utilize tools to build Electro-Mechanical assemblies in compliance with Work Instructions, Assembly prints, and Bills of Material (BOM's) Utilize required materials/tools to fasten components on subassemblies/unit assemblies and document build results Execute to daily, weekly, and monthly production plans; notify supervision of issues or discrepancies Test assemblies for functional performance and may adjust, repair or replace malfunctioning parts in compliance with work instructions Complete daily production logs and reports of activities; manage self to goal attainment Identify problems and take corrective actions within scope of authority, and notify supervisor of actions taken Strict attention to detail required, including documentation of work flows, test results, and repair activities Verify raw material and component revision and count in assembly process Inspect, reject, and document raw material, components, and work-in-process Quality Operate within Work Instructions/SOP's, Job Safety, OSHA, FDA, and ISO 13485 standards without deviation Learn and receive training on manufacturing products/processes; train and coach other assembly associates as required Maintain a safe and clean work environment according to 6S principles Maintain a positive and winning attitude and ability to interact well with all associates; multi-task for the benefit of the team Work overtime and perform other duties as assigned to support Manufacturing Operations Clearly and effectively communicate with peers, Engineers, supervisor, and other department associates KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES High school diploma plus 2+ years related experience. MAJOR FUNCTION This position is responsible for the assembly, complete machine documentation and other various assembly operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Build standard machine as required by daily shipping report; follow checklists and manufacturing order definitions. Refer to machine check lists as steps of assembly operation - before release to testing. Record and complete machine documentation information, such as (Serial number, Date, Model, Initials) on machine completions log book. Verify M.O. matched actual approved machine and contents of M.O. including correct materials and labor time. Report defective assemblies or components to final Assembly Lead and replace as required. Must have electrical background related to assembly. Must be able to perform heavy assembly in a manufacturing environment. Must be able to build and maintain high quality standards. Must have heavy assembly experience. Assist with other machine assemblies as required. Build custom machines as required or assigned. Prep stock trailers (tires, axles, etc.) if required. Perform production unit clean up tasks as assigned in work instruction and safety standards. Sweep machine building path daily or as required. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent; previous heavy machine assembly experience , with at least (5) years of experience. Must be mechanically inclined and use of power tools. Cable Harness Assembler - build harness to wiring diagram, form boards, soldering, crimping, plugging contacts into connectors, torquing backshells while working to Class 3 IPC standards. Written instructions given by mechanical engineering but also need to read from drawing schematics. Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables. Works from diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws. Makes continuity checks on work in process and completed. May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications. May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.
