Job DescriptionDescription: Assembles metal products such as brakes, valves, hydraulic cylinders partially or completely working at a bench or on shop floor. Requirements: · Positions parts according to work instructions or following blueprints. · Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners. · Removes small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to produce close fit between parts. · Operates drill presses, punch presses, or riveting machines to assist in assembly operation. · Dissembles brake boosters, air-brake compressors, and values for salvage of parts. · Participate in and support Carlisle Operating System (COS) initiatives. · Participate in COS events to improve productivity and reduce waste. · Work with management team t identify continuous improvement projects utilizing lean and six sigma principles to drive operational excellence and improve profitability. · Work with management team to promote waste identification and elimination by utilizing Lean Manufacturing concepts and principles of Kaizen. · Other duties as assigned by Shift Supervisor or Plant Manager. · Six to 12 months of employment experience in a manufacturing environment. · Mechanical or machinery related experience and/or training preferred. · Ability to read blueprints. · Good verbal and written communication skills. · Good problem solving skills · Focus on continuous improvement and Lean principles. · Ability to work in a team environment. · Normal working conditions require continual standing, walking, bending, reaching, and eye/hand/foot coordination. You will be called upon to assist with, and may be assigned work in, any area of the plant, including coating lines, slitting, shipping, receiving, paint vault, and packaging. Some of your Responsibilities include: Retrieves and transports bare coils and maintains flow of metal to lines by safely operating cranes, fork lifts, and upenders without damaging material or equipment. Trims, packages and bands finished coils according to customer specifications using proper skids, bands, pads, and wrapping materials. Inspects coils and identifies and reports defects. Reads and interprets production schedules. Accurately identifies proper skid and package specified on schedules. Reads and accurately records coil weights, order numbers, etc. Loads or unloads received or shipped coils onto or off of trucks. Qualifications Qualifications As the selected candidate, you will need a high school level reading and writing, visual acuity to read labels, meters, gauges, documents and instructions, in addition to the following: Ability to read and comprehend written materials such as schedules, SOPs, work rules, etc. Ability to effectively communicate with all members of team. Under minimal supervision, learn how to use a variety of avionic working tools, techniques, and materials to fabricate simple parts and subassemblies for completion of VIP aircraft. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Fabricate high quality wire harnesses and subassemblies I.A.W. Comlux approved procedures. Must be able to interpret material specs and engineering drawings to ensure fabricated parts meet the design spec, quality standards and customer expectations. Learn to request material needs from approved data in a timely manner to ensure a continuous workflow. Must be able to adhere to all regulatory documentation regarding proper sign offs. As well as be able to ensure paperwork is complied with and completed timely in accordance with the Comlux RSQM and other quality standards. Follow all department safety guidelines and ensure proper usage of tools and equipment. Basic knowledge of company installation procedures, process specs, IOPs, etc. Other duties as assigned but not covered herein. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC: High School Diploma, or GED. Relevant trade school attendance is a plus.
