In this Maintenance - Support Technician role, you will work on electro-mechanical machinery and equipment to ensure optimum utilization of materials and manpower to maximize production, safety, quality, and efficiency. They need a strong wrench turner who also has electrical and PLC knowledge and maintenance capabilities. They have 28 maintenance people across three shifts, and you will be assigned to a particular part of the facility and be responsible for those maintenance activities first. You will also assist in other areas of the plant as needed.
This is a 2nd shift role, in a union plant that works from 2:30 to 11 PM, at times you may be asked to cover for 1/2 of another technicians shift before or after your shift, if they are out sick or on vacation, but you will not work more than a 12 hour shift. There is plenty of OT both on your shift and on the weekends, and you could work 20 or more hours/week if you want to. There are plenty of takers for this, so much of it is not mandatory, but at times it will be. On average, you can expect at least 10 hours of OT/week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Generate and complete work orders to ensure materials are available from the parts room. Initiate work requests when work cannot be performed immediately
Communicate and work with other operators, line leaders, and the technical leader on maintenance issues
Perform preventative maintenance and inspection functions, and take the initiative to ensure these programs are modified and updated as needed
Participate in training to improve and maintain technical skills, teamwork, creativit,y and communication skills
Participate in root-cause failure analysis with team members and maintenance leaders for major downtime
Actively participate in team and plant meetings and activities
Follow all safety, housekeeping, and regulatory agency requirements
Accurately troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance, coach and teach, and repair to the original specifications of processing, packaging, and facility equipment
Read and understand technical documentation, including electrical and mechanical drawings
Understand, troubleshoot, and repair the following mechanical systems:
●Pumps, centrifugal, and positive displacement
●Power transmission equipment; electric drives, gearboxes, and conveyors
●Hydraulic systems, motors and power plants
●Pneumatic systems, including valves and actuators
●Utility systems including compressed air, water, steam and condensate
●Lubrication fundamentals
Understand, troubleshoot, and repair the following electrical systems:
●AC and DC equipment control circuits, including blueprint reading
●AC motors: single and multi-phase
●DC motors
●Variable Frequency Drives
●Process sensors: RTD's, pressure transmitters, proximity, level, photo, and flow
●Servo control systems
●Fanuc robotics
●Programming
Must understand Programmable Logic Controllers and troubleshoot relay ladder logic. Must read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings, including schematics. Must be a highly motivated, self-directed worker, capable of working alone or in a team environment to solve problems and implement solutions. Experience with root cause analysis tools, failure modes, and continuous improvement preferred. Ability to follow safe work practices such as LOTO.

Job Purpose
The primary responsibility of this position is to perform the required testing following specific procedures, process, and completing them on time. Other duties include but are not limited to the following:
Job Duties and Responsibilities
* Set up, create test profiles, operate dynamometers as well as fatigue test benches for driveline components, sub assemblies and full assemblies.
* Work with requesting engineers and test engineers to insure correct fixturing, set-up, operation, and acquisition of data for test requests.
* Assemble and disassemble driveline components and assemblies.
* Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues encountered during assembly/Setups and escalate if needed.
* Support total quality management objectives including all KPIs, and WIs, in a team environment.
* Adhere to all Operating procedures and Work instruction related to this position.
* Assist with calibration of equipment, and perform equipment verification as necessary.
* Assist with the quality system and associated documentation (lessons learned)
* Perform data analysis on raw data from the test stands to confirm test completed
* Inspect disassembled components of tested parts for determination of damage and possible causes
* Support Safety First Assessments - complete findings and HERO forms
* Assistance Test Engineers on organizing parts, fixtures, and other necessary items for upcoming tests
* Submit maintenance requests as required for recognized issues with equipment
* Responsible for equipment uptime and updating the daily schedule for each department.
Qualifications Desired:
* Preferred Associates Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering technology.
* High School Diploma or GED Required.
* 2+ years of experience in automotive field
* Test lab experience (Equipment troubleshooting, Setup, and Profile writing)

* Conduct routine process audits and layered process audits (LPA) to ensure processes are being maintained within documented parameters. Record on appropriate check lists or other documents.
* Maintain accurate records of CNC programs per Dana procedures.
* Work in a safe manner and report unsafe work conditions, equipment or practices to department supervisors or engineers for resolution.
* Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
Education Required/Preferred:
* Knowledge of cutting tool and CNC technology through two years of technical study or equivalent work experience.
