* Instruct Midshipmen and provide support for faculty led courses in various Marine Engineering Laboratories.
* Be responsible for the implementation of proper operational processes and safety procedures in the laboratories.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, experienced professional mechanical technician who has experience providing instruction and maintaining equipment in an academic laboratory environment. The candidate will have experience in welding and machine shop operations, and have experience operating, installing and repairing complex instructional equipment. The candidate will have experience in various marine engineering environments, including diesel, steam, refrigeration, and others.

Qualifications
Surface mount technology operations, fine pitch soldering, rework. Must be able to work within a small range of motion as the instrument has many small components where soldering and reworking is necessary.
Working under a microscope is a big plus as is prior Medical devices experience. Successful candidate must possess the ability to work in a regulated environment and work in both team, independent modes and multi-task. Ability to perform hands-on assembly tasks and also must possess proficiency with tools and related equipment in a manufacturing setting.
Basic reading, writing, arithmetic skills and a familiarity with computers.
Attention to detail and quality of work are required skills.
