Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (with flexibility as business needs arise).
Targeted Compensation: $20.00-$24.00 per hour (based on experience).
The Assembly Mechanic is responsible for mechanically assembling systems and connecting electrical components, controls, and panels safely in accordance with standard practices of the electrical trade. Assembly mechanics will conform to schematics and blueprints that meet quality standards.

Job Responsibilities
* Assemble the components such as; valves, piping, instrumentation, vessels and pumps into a single Vacuum Pump System
* Operate industrial sit-down forklifts while maintaining daily inspection sheets
* Maintain high quality standards of products
* Weld carbon steel piping, weld and fabricate structural modifications
* Prepare time, production and inventory records as required
* Maintain qualification and management authorization to work within the limited approach boundary of electrically energized circuits
* Verify safe electrical wiring of pumps and systems prior to energizing circuits for test
* Install appropriate boundaries and signage for affected employees prior to energizing electrical circuits
* Electrically energize circuits for pumps and systems to record amperages and voltages as necessary
* Maintain authorized status for lock out/tag out practices and maintain appropriate training and classifications to perform assigned tasks
* Facilitate above processes and procedures while maintaining measurable and productive output
* Assist with the implementation and maintenance of continuous improvement and Lean activities to improve flow and reduce waste
Required Experience
* High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
* 4+ years of experience in heavy industrial assembly or equivalent trade school: Required
* 1+ years of experience in hands-on assembly or service of vacuum systems or related equipment and at least 1 years of related warehousing experience: Preferred
* Ability to read and understand complicated mechanical drawings/specifications, measurement instrumentation and gauges: Preferred
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office software: Required

Engineering Technician V
This is a waterfront shipboard construction and re-modernization position, working within shipyards and drydocks onboard U.S. Naval ships. The incumbent will be working in varying temperatures of high heat in the summer and cold in the winter preforming the following tasks:
1, Installs, maintains, repairs, overhauls, troubleshoots, modifies, constructs and tests electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment and related devices.
2, Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in order to put equipment in operational condition and solve complex problems.
3, Troubleshoots and corrects malfunctions using specialized test and diagnostic equipment.
4, Modifies circuitry to improve performance.
5, Makes recommendations for improvements or modifications to correct problems.
6, Provides operation and maintenance instruction to customer personnel.
7, Prepares operating and malfunction reports and related documentation.
8, Works with engineering staff to determine and solve equipment design problems.
9, Performs quality assurance testing of assemblies and equipment fabricated by other technicians.
10, Provides work leadership to less-experienced technicians, and may have supervisory responsibility.
11, Participates in special projects, as required.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $30.88 - $40.25. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Job Description
THOR Solutions is actively seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician with expertise in Navy shipboard diesel engines to support the Naval Special Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWC-PD) in Norfolk, VA. The Technician will provide full-time onsite contracted support to NSWCPD.
This position is associated with an upcoming contract that THOR is pursuing, with an expected start in early January 2026. We are conducting preliminary, “contingent” hiring for roles associated with this contract. The work start is dependent upon THOR being awarded this contract.
Typical Responsibilities: May include (but are not limited to) the following actions:
Provide DRS support in the development and updating of Propulsion, Power and Diesel Engines Systems technical and ILS documentation.
Technical and logistics documentation to be updated includes but is not limited to:
Technical Manuals
Personnel Qualification Standards (PQS)
Depot Level Maintenance Standards (MS)
Technical Repair Standards (TRS)
Process Control Procedures
Class Standard Work Templates
PMS (MIPs & MRCs)
EOSS
APLs.
Provide the technical support necessary to incorporate changes to this documentation resulting from feedbacks, advisories, technical bulletins, Technical Warrant Holder (TWH) guidance, hardware configuration changes resulting from alteration installations, and other situations that arise which require the updating of technical and logistics support documentation.
Provide assistance with the development and tracking of DRS Plan of Action and Milestones (POAMs) for related Propulsion, Power and Diesel Engines Systems programs and projects
Location: Primarily onsite at THOR local office in Norfolk, VA.
Travel: Up to 25% travel anticipated, for 1-2 week durations, to CONUS and OCONUS locations including: Philadelphia, PA, Beloit, WI, Detroit, MI, Peoria, IL, Washington DC, Norfolk, VA, Mayport, FL, San Diego, CA, Everett, WA, Pearl Harbor, HI, Bahrain, Sasebo, Japan, Yokosuka, Japan, Singapore, and various Naval facilities and ship new construction yard facilities.
Typical Physical Activity: Primarily desk/computer work in an office environment. May involve: repetitive motion. Periodic visits to waterfront/shipboard environments. May involve: traversing shipboard environments (e.g., confined spaces, ladders, hatches) or vision.
Eligibility for a SECRET Security Clearance is Required: This position requires eligibility for a Secret security clearance, to be obtained after hire. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance; therefore, only current U.S. citizens will be considered for this position.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
At least ten (10) years of recent, relevant hands-on experience in the area of diesel propulsion and power generating systems.
Four (4) years of experience with US Navy diesel engine applications, specifically FM-Pielstick, FMOP, Caterpillar, MTU and/or Isotta Fraschini.
Three (3) years of experience supporting the US Navy DRS Program. To include experience with the following:
Shipboard Automated Maintenance Manager (SAMM)
Conducting DOCTOR diesel engine performance analyses (DEPA)
Reviewing DOCTOR combustion analysis data and providing technical recommendations to correct out-of-parameter conditions.
Ability to communicate effectively.
